The theory is that Kraye hangs back with, the storm lances acting as counterchargers to protect him from harm or sallying forth to kill infantry and anything else that gets too close.
The defender is my main multi-purpose battle 'jack. It has a strong and versatile melee weapon for charges and a decent ranged weapon for Guided Strike. I think it will play the midfield, blasting away with its cannon or charging in for some hit-and-run action depending on the ebb and flow of the game.
Ironclad, on the other hand benefits from Full Tilt - his job is to charge in, Tremor to knock everyone down, smash a few heads with his hammer, and then run away cackling at the top of his mechanical lungs. Then my other jacks can smash or shoot at the fallen foes, depending on the circumstances.
The hunters, on the other hand, use the Parry rule, which combined with their already high speed AND the possibility that I might cast Full Tilt on one of them gives the lucky 'jack a completely insane 15'' threat range followed by 5'' of free-strike-free retreat. Other than that possibility, they Guided Fire up and shoot the bejeesus out of enemy warlocks, or anything else that annoys me.
The Black 13th is my trouble-shooters. They find trouble, sneak up on it, and shoot it. They seem like a pretty independent little trio, great for prowling about the battlefield and fouling up my opponent's plans.
Finally, in addition to healing up my 'jacks and spraying anyone who gets too close, Strangewayes will lurk behind my lines and use Powerbooster when I'm feeling focus-hungry or Evasion on either my defender or ironclad, should either find itself about to charge into a battle it may not be able to ride-by attack away from.
The goal is to have a force that allows me to control the flow of combat, to only be engaged when I feel like it, and on my terms.
What do you think?
