Warscythe
Mind shackle scarabs
Command barge + gauss

Cryptek - 30

9 warriors - 117
Ghost ark - 115

9 warriors - 117
ghost ark - 115

Annihilation barge -90
annihilation barge -90

4 stands of scarabs or 3 tomb blades - 60

I like it, has redundancy and a decent amount of punch for 1k points.

Only comment I would say is maybe strip a bit of the gear off the overlord and beef up the Scarab unit.

So maybe cut the tacheon arrow and bring the scarabs up to 6 stands?

Something like that, although I was leaning more towards the Mind shackle scarabs, however I do like that piece or wargear on its own, seems to me the Lord in a barge won't take advantage of them as much, but that really comes down to play style.

I dig the Tacheon Arrow though, 2/3rds of the time that should minimise a significant threat early on, could be a big tide turner in a 1k game.

I really like the mindshackles in that the lord would have a really good chance of tying up and striking down the loan IC.

For the arrow, thata what I was thinking too, a first turn game changer/demoralizor

Couple of things.

1, lance cryptics cost 35, not 30

2, the Arrow can be very game changing, but you have to get lucky. If you want a vehicle dead, Depending on target, you have at best a 44% chance that it'll wreck/explode a vehicle. (Aiming at a 10 armor, open topped vehicle) Conversely, it could be as bad as 13% chance on a closed top 14 armor vehicle.

Now, if you can manage to get the Arrow in a unit with a Chronometer, odds go way up. A land raider will get wrecked 44% of the time, and 74% for a Trukk.
If you do attach to a chronometer cryptic, that's a turn your overlord is not zipping around in his barge. Which is a major trade off.

As a calculated risk, even if you use it on really easy targets, it's going to fail at least 1 out of 4 games, and that's with ideal circumstances/No Cover.

All things considered, if a 30 point piece of wargear can remove a 250 point landraider from the equation 44% of the time, not to mention keep 550 points of Draigowing effectively out of combat for a large portion of the game, I think I'd take the risk.

I disagree with your math on "taking out a landraider".
The chance to hit is (2/3) - 66.66%
The chance to pen is (1/3) - 2/9 (22.22%)
The chance to get a destoryed in 1/2 - 1/18 (11.11%)
now you can also destroy on a glance(ap1) so we need to add in the 1/6 chance for glance + 1/6 chance for a 6 result or vehicle destroyed - (1/6 * 1/6 * 2/3) = 1/54 or (1.85%)
This gives you a chance to do this ~13% of the time. So your going to do this about 1 in 7.7 games. Worth it? not really imo. It does better against things with lower armor or opened topped but I think this is just a point filler upgraded instead of a great upgrade.
