so i was sitting here thinking of ways to give guardsmen FnP and i thought of this nifty little idea, why not make CCs and PCS operate under the IC rules so the whole CCS/PCS is treated as a single IC so they can freely join and leave units adding thier bonuses to each unit they join, this might be a bit over powered due to the fact that a blob of 50 guardsmen with FnP might be a scary thought.

i like the idea ( as i haven't seen anyone else spout it yet) and im going to try a few games against my bro.s with it.

thoughts?

blob of guardsmen with FNP would take the piss. So, no.

Ever thought 40k would be a lot better with bears?

what if there was a stipulation that disallowed the joining of combined squads?

and is a blob of 50 guard men with FNP really that scary anyway? i mean how often do you actually get to use their armor save? IIRC you cant use Fnp if you couldnt use your armor sv.

You recall incorrectly. FNP is only denied by AP2/1, power weapons, stuff that ignores all saves and stuff that would instantly kill the model.

For thirteen years I had a dog with fur the darkest black. For thirteen years he was my friend, oh how I want him back.

With FNP, yes. The point of blobs is that they're large but easily destroyed. T3 means against MEQ, everything will need 3s if not 2s to wound, and armour saves are rare. FNP essentially halves your casualties.
I would argue in favour of PCS being able to join blobs, but not FNP. Leave it to the medics.

If my blobs could get FnP...oh god...

Krieg lists can take two quartermasters which grant FnP to a unit every turn. And they can take power fists on sergeants. And they have stubborn built in (for assault anyways). And they can exchange lasguns for laspistols/ccw.

Mmmmmm...Krieg...
