Subject: Archon, Shadow Field and Ghostplate Armour

Let's say I have an Archon with both a Shadow Field and Ghostplate Armour. He and his unit are hit with a Lot of Bolter Fire. Not wanting to run the risk of blowing my Shadow Field, I want to use my my 4+ armor save from the Ghostplate. Can I do that, or do I have to use the Shadow Field untill it is blown?

Current rules say that you have to choose the best available save.

P20, Armour Saves - para 2, final line states that a save is better if the number is lower
P24, Models with more than one save, "always using the best available save"
