Hi all. This is my first post...

Writing a competitive but fun DOA list. Would appreciate help with a few qs

Here's my 1500 list

Troops

Asm. Infernus, melta *2 225
asm. Infernus, melta *2 225
asm. Flamer *2. 200

650

Fast

VV. 5. Jump packs. 3 pws + th 225

VV 5. Jump packs. Pws 225

450

Elites

Sanguinary priest jump pack *2 150

Leaves me with 250 points for hq and extras

Taking dante means i can use my awesome conversion and ram in some extras

Or two librarians with jump packs.

I know the two librarians would be better... Im just secretly hoping someone out there can tell me some uber secret tactic that would make dante irreplaceable.

Last time i used him he came in with a assault squad with two meltas and an infernus. It was like having survivable jump packing fire dragons which can appear exactly 3" from a tank for reliable meltiness... Then went and destroyed a warboss which had nerfed syats due to dante (also vanguard had softened its bodyguard.)

Also how would you expand above 1500? More uber units or more troops

I have a full cc honour guard (3 pws fist and chptr banner)

Terminators (spacehulk termies)

Assault termies

A wide array of chaplains

Do not place dante first when his unit lands so his pistol can get in range.
Usually you play dante and take sanguary guard as scoring units and then take less vanguard.
Honour guard or typhoons or dev. squads can provide shooting if you want it. Against some armies and units you will.

Otherwise you'll be fine and good luck.

I know however sanguinary guard never seemed to work for me and i do love vanguard.

Maybe libbies are the way to go.

I know typhoons are rated but i just can't bring myself to field skimmers in a space marine army.

I can do devs. I like my dev sergent so im well up for that. The one thing im worried about is them getting shot up before the jump packers arrive. Does it make sense to reserve em and have them run onto the board edge? Maybe it'd surprise people who are focusing on the Super humans landing on there heads?

How best to field heavy weapons though? In total i have 2 laz 2 plas 2 HBs one MM and one missile launcher.

There is also the sternguard option. I'm very indecisive when it comes to heavy weapons.

Or perhaps i should refit my honour guard. They were for a focal point for my assaults (chptr banner and priest) but they always die before i can do anything. Of course last time was due to a orbital barrage.
