I got some OOP metal space wolves from Craigslist. They don't have a good paint job and the guns look weird.

Do you have any recommendation on how to make these Grey Hunters, Long Fangs look better? I also got Felt-Hand, OOP Rhino and OOP Predator. They don't look that good (as models) TBH, perhaps some conversion experts can chime in on what I can do to make them look cooler.

I don't remember if they're all solid miniatures, but if they aren't:

Strip them all down (Simple Green if you're in no rush. Purple Power if you want it done quicker. Metal? Soak 'em in Lacquer thinner for the shiniest miniatures you'll ever set eyes on.)

Then, see if you can switch out arms and such for newer arms and weapons. They should match up pretty well (and if not too well, a little GS is in order).

It's an old (middle-English) phrase.

deadly: archaic except in the phrase , with a single effort or action that is completely effective, devastating, etc.

It's pretty much still the same model. The dreadnoughts have kept that style since 2nd edition - only going to plastic.

You can swap out the weapons to the current set (and arms) without too much difficulty - they might look a little smaller, but some diversity is to be expected in a force that venerates its wargear as relics. It's just older armour given to those who've earned the right to wear it.

I think they are half-metal half-plastic.

It's good to know that at least Fell-handed model is comparable to the newer ones.

just strip them i know a person at my flgs who uses oop space wolves, frankly i think its the paint job that really defines how good they are, the color on them looks too clean and cartooney

I agree, strip everything down and reassemble them with modern bits where applicable. the vehicles might benefit from modern crew or pintle weapons, as well as stowage. Depending on your tolerance levels, you might want to change the old shoulder-pack heavy weapons for more modern variants (not necessarily an easy conversion, though).

people(such as myself) would kill for classic minis, old blood claw sergeant and old long fangs especially
