Quick question for you, my YMDC chums. In a night fighting situation, how does one fire with barrage weapons? Take, for example, the humble Manticore - normally, if I want to blast the bejeezus out of those space marines hiding on the other side of that building, I'll let 'em have it with the Indirect Fire, because I can't see them anyways.

But what if it's Night Fight? Do I have to roll the 3D6 x2 (or 2D6 x3, I forget which right now) to see if I can 'see' them first? Or does the whole indirect thing allow me to let rockets roar off into the pitch black and the devil take the scatter dice?

TLDR: In a Night Fight, do you have to roll-to-see a target for an indirect barrage attack?

You still roll. Then you file the rules for if you see then our not. I think you add an extra D6 if you cannot as well. Check the rule stated above for more info.

No, you do not roll. At all.

See the rules link, it is very clear on what you need to do when firing barrage.

You still roll as normal for night fight distace. However, if the target is "in the dark" then you have the option of firing with increaded scatter.

Oho, gotcha. Foundit. On a semi-related note, under which circumstances is it that weapons *always* scatter (including in the direction of the leetle arrow on the 'hit' symbol)? Or is that just specific weapons?

Only if there is another specific rule in play, on the weapon or otherwise.

The only one I can think of right now is the upgrade for the Company Command Squad

Lol and in that poor guy's case he always scatters "alot"

Only thing with most NightFighting we tend to use, it's in a DoW Deployment so firing a Manticore as Barrage is out the window .... as it drove on that turn. However with the perma night necrons maybe I'll get a chance.
