Hi all, putting away Vulkan for awhile and shifted over to DA Deathwing.
So heres the list and what i'm thinking. C&C appreciated.
2000 pts:
Belial: TH/SS
Int-Chaplain: Terminator Armor
Upgrade Squad (Troop): LC/LC x5, Cyclone Launcher, Standard Bearer, Apothacary
Land Raider Crusader: Extra Armor, Storm Bolter
DW Sqd (Troop): PF/SB x4, Cyclone Launcher, SB/PW Sgt.
DW Sqd (Troop): TH/SS x3, Cyclone Launcher, LC/LC x2
DW Sqd (Troop): TH/SS x 5, Cyclone Launcher
DW Sqd (Troop): TH/SS x5, Cyclone Launcher
Speeder (Fast): Typhoon Launcher, Multi Melta
Speeder (Fast): Typhoon Launcher, Multi Melta
Speeder (Fast): Typhoon Launcher, Multi Melta

The 2 HQs and the LC squad go in the Crusader as the troop munching unit. With the standard and chappy thats 25 LC attacks (re-rolling misses and damage) 5 PW attacks (re-rolling misses), and 5 TH attacks (rerolling misses). I chose the TH/SS on Belial to give the unit some anti-tank just in case the missiles and melta all whiff AND it helps keep Belial alive longer for the rites of battle leadership. This unit should be able to kill any Horde unit outright or multi-charge 2 units and kill the rest through failed fearless saves.
The SB/PF unit would be used to hold the home objective in C&C missions. Extra long range shots plus alot of close in shooting. A 4+ cover (3+ if going to ground) in the event something AP2 or 1 shoots at you.
The mixed LC-TH unit as a reaction force. Either reserved or moving cover to cover, this can deal with any stray vehicles or moderate swarms (truck boyz, spawned Gaunts, etc) that pop up. Can also be used for mixed tank-MSU armies.
2 strait TH/SS units. Objective takers and killers of all things. They can hoof it to other objectives while proving long range fire power or deep strike close to the enemy objective, take a round of shooting, then assault the enemies home (capture and control missions).
If the opponent is a Tyranid Monster type list I can swap out the LC/LC unit for a TH/SS unit and go big-bug hunting while the LC/LC unit goes after gaunts and the like.
Note this is a generalized list since in our league play we don't know week to week what the specific mission is or who our opponent will be until we all arive at the FLGS.
Anyways, Critiques are always welcome.

Life isn't fair. But wouldn't it be worse if Life were fair, and all of the really terrible things that happen to us were because we deserved them?

I don't like the idea of camping a squad of terminators. You are wating 235pts. to hold an objevtive that doesn't matter until turn 4-5. I also don't like all TH/SS termintors. They are boring and will get swarmed by orks or gaunts and die.

I really don't think the Chaplain is needed. You could add some more fire support instead of him. Yes you get to re-roll but with the extra attack you have from banner it really makes up for the re-roll. IMHO. I would never give Belail a TH/SS. I like him attacking at the higher Int. Again IMHO. You don't need Rights of Battle as everything in your army is Fearless.

But these are my opinions so take them as you will.

Good Luck!

This is a list I built to help another person working on Deathwing. It is very close to what I might run if I did all DW. But I like to play doublwing.

I wouldn't play a raider. It is a huge target, reduces the already limited number of models you have on the board and stops the CML from firing, stops you buying preds or vindis.

The raider will be blown to bits. You basically have to decide if you want to go mounted or not here. Its 3 LRs or none imho.

I do agree that a LR is a big target. It still is a pretty tough one to crack from range. Most people from what I see uses missles. I wouldn't give a missle a good chance to get a pen on that LR. Meltas you have ot get pretty close. Lets face it the LR really is there to get the Command squad up there faster then it could on foot. I don't really mind one. I however don't like taking more then one as its a big points sink to do that.

To make a LR a better option he really needs some extra vehicels out there to saturate the field with vehicles. That is why I suggested vindies. He allready had the speeders which work perfectly for this as they are cheap and can have a good impact on the other players army. Same thing goes with the Dreads I mentioned as well. Although they are not as cheap as those speeders.

Anyways Good Luck!
