Is the destroyer lord counted to be a overlord (Can it have a royal court?)?

nope.

They can't have a royal court but I'm still wondering why we can't take a phase shifted on them. I mean regular lords and overlords can take them but destroyer lords can't...very odd. Wonder if its a miss print?

Well, fluff wise they are outcasts, so they dont have the same access to equipments like the overlords.

I was actually wondering this as well last night... maybe FAQ may add it...

Hope so it just seems odd he can't take the phase shifter. The wraiths lord was always a fun build with the old codex.

I think its a balancing thing...can't have a T6 lord with a 2+ save and invul floating around now can we?

Yes I know Draigo is T5... but hes got a lot of other fancy things going for him to make up for that. (EW to name one glaring difference lol).

Crap you have a point. That is a bit dodgey...well, the D.Lord could have a 4+ RP so I guess that...balances it?

Lol ya because no space marines have shields and hammers. When he gets hit there is no save for him. Every time I field him he just gets eaten...bad.

Draigo is also nearly 300 points....

I can see why we can't take a Phase shifter on them.

I would like to be able to take a Royal Court though! That's the downside if you ask me.

"Court" doesn't really work for Destroyer Lords though, fluff-wise I mean. And from what I'm reading (fluff-wise again) they don't often work with non-destroyers, or at least non-destroyers don't like to work with them. Now, the ability to take a retinue of mini destroyer lords that can only be assigned to destroyer squads? Hells yeah. Destroyer Crypteks? Not so much. On the other hand, I guess the idea would be that a destroyer lord 'rounds up' others who have woken with the destroyer mindset, and to have that mindset they have to be immortal/lychguard/deathmark or higher, so Destroyer Crypteks could work...*shrug*. Neat idea, but it didn't happen.

A destroyer special character messing with FoC would've been cool too, but probably too open to abuse.

I know it doesn't fit the fluff well, but it's a major game changing thing, to not be able to take a Royal Court. That is the biggest thing holding me back from taking a Destroyer lord.
