I've heard some good things about the Vallejo golds, Which ones would you suggest? I'm also looking for the one people refer to as "Liquid Gold"

Thanks.

liquid gold is a range of paints, you'll have to google it

once you go liquid gold for metallics there is no coming back

also they stink like hell and may kill you if you try and airbrush them in an enclosed place

"Old gold" is probably the best choice for your base gold color. Your want more that one color to shade and highlight. Make sure that you keep separate brushes for them as they are alcohol based paints and don't want to cross contaminate you acrylics and alcohol based paints.

The Liquid Golds are by far the the best metallics I've ever used. For a quick review and some pics of them in use I refer you to:

Hope this helps!

That is actually something I've been wondering myself - theoretically it should work, if you thin the Liquid Gold with alcohol instead of other thinning mediums - but I've heard, that this could damage some airbrushes, if they are't properly plated on the inside.

Ive done it, just like any other metallic but very thin, partial coverage isn't really doable

ventilate your work area
then ventilate it more, then setup fans, then ventilate it more.

seriously, once you vaporize the stuff with an airbrush it is deadly.
