Just watching Blade Trinity for the first time in ages, and when Drake walks on the streets for the first time I had this instant hit of 'What a bad-ass ' Any of you had similar moments you want to share?

Wow, both of those vids where neat. I love the GAU-8 and the good ol A-10. The fling tank where the pilot sits in a titanium bathtub.
You wern't at An Nasiriya onMarch 23 where you? There was a blue on blue (I hate the term 'Friendly Fire' there's nothing friendly about it!) iincident there when some marines from Charlie Company, 1st Battalion, 2ndMarines got hit with BoB by some Air National Guard A-10's.
thank you for serving Jihadin. Even though I am Canadian I respect everyone who has served their country, and those who made the ultimate sacrafice. I would of been in the Canadian Forces (navy boswain, I wanted to get into maritime inderdiction, sweep and clearing ships and GoPLAT or Army motor pool, then Armourer but they don't hire outside the forces for that so I would of had to done my first tour, then re-upped to get into Armourer)

Closest thing most people will ever get to flying an A-10 is in Battlefield 3. My brother loves the thing because he's in the Air Force program up at VMI and has began spreading the myth that if the A-10 fires long enough it will stall. It doesn't stall, but the thing's recoil makes it slow down a bit. When the recoil of the weapon you're carrying can slow down two jet engines, its a bad ass gun.

Mate, LN/Bastion were gay as feth! They were the nice safe places you stayed en-route to the actual patrol bases!
The only time I spent there were a few days before R n R!
Most of my tours in the Gan were spent in the out stations at Kajaki and MSQ, I also did some force protection In Kabul for 5 months a few years prior.
In Kajaki we basically had the task of pushing the FLET back as far away from the hydroelectric dam as possible, and from about 90 patrols I think we got into major firefights on about 88 of them. It was the place to be back in 2007.
We generally had air support from American F-15's, A-10s and Apache's. I think we dropped about 200 tonnes of bombs on them, and took 600 EKIA from my last trip. It was fething quality. We also went through a cool phase of dropping anti tank weapons on people that were seen to be digging mines in during the night time hours.
Sadly I went back 18 months later and this type of behaviour was banned, and it seemed to have turned into "drop less bombs, give sweet's out and don't shoot people unless you really really have to" and my morale went through the floor.
I left shortly afterwards.

We are arming Syrian rebels who support ISIS, who is fighting Iran, who is fighting Iraq who we also support against ISIS, while fighting Kurds who we support while they are fighting Syrian rebels.
The one I know of that hit major news was the canadians at Bagram was hit by a F15 at East River Range. I know of a couple of A10 strikes that ere danger close on some army units near Jbad in RC East. I did look up the one you mention and for the life of me I can't find diffenent time frame of the one your mentioning. What year?. I do know of Blue on Blue hits throughout RC South but not one involving a A10. Its not something thats really talked about in theater. Famous one we all know was Pat Tillman and that was due to Blue Force Tracker not being updated/functioning.
Matty I love dealing with my british counter parts in Kandahar. They were fun to be with and its always something new going on with them. Best one yet I saw was their "Knicker Wall" I have video and given time I post it for you lol

The GAU the A-10 uses has an accuracy of around 80% within a 40 foot diameter circle at around 4,000 feet and flying. That doesn't mean the pilot can't aim it in the wrong direction, but that's an amazing feat right there.

Well mate, I love dealing with my American chums. I had a great working relationship with the USMC when I first went to Iraq, and I got presented with an American flag that was flown over Camp Phoenix and a citation from the colonel after I went onto the roof of the DFAC and dropped my UGL on 2 Taliban fighters that were firing an improvised mortar tube into the camp. I framed it and its on my wall next to my commando dagger.
As I said, Ive got a genuine soft spot for our American cousins because I don't think me and many of my colleagues would be here if it wasn't for American air during our time in Iraq and Afghanistan. We went into Sierra Leone without US support and we fething missed it. It's a sad state of affairs to go from 2x A-10s flying constant CAS to relying on 2 blokes with 51mm mortars.
Still, we got the job done in the end.

Thank you for serving mattyrm. As I said before, I have a tremendious respect for everyone who serves there country. Especially the ones who don't come back. I think it's a crying shame what is happening today in regards to how solders are view and treated. Atleast it's not like in the Vietnam era where they are getting spit on and blood tossed on them while being called 'child murderers'.
This stuff shouldn't and can not be forgotten. We just had rememberence day and my girlfriend has two granddaughters in primary school, one of them didn't know why we wear poppies and what remberence day was. So I sat her down and made her watch history channel with me. The older one does get it and I respect her alot for this ( the yongest is 7 the oldest is 12).
Kids have to know what happened in europe and the pacific 60+ years ago. Just remember that those who forget history are doomed to repeat it.

I remember seeing an A10 during the Gulf War, It taxied into the hard standing near where I was working.
The access ladder for the aircrew to get in and out of the A/C is behind a hatch, when the hatch was opened, there was a painting of Elmer Fudd in BDUs, carrying an M16.
The caption read "Be vewwy vewwy quiet, we're hunting iwakis"
Still makes me laugh to remember it, sadly no photos, as cameras were not exactly encouraged on the flightline.
If the thought of something makes me giggle for longer than 15 seconds, I am to assume that I am not allowed to do it. item 87, skippys list

Mandorallen turned back toward the insolently sneering baron. 'My Lord,' The great knight said distantly, 'I find thy face apelike and thy form misshapen. Thy beard, moreover, is an offence against decency, resembling more closely the scabrous fur which doth decorate the hinder portion of a mongrel dog than a proper adornment for a human face. Is it possibly that thy mother, seized by some wild lechery, did dally at some time past with a randy goat?' - Mimbrate Knight Protector Mandorallen.
