Overlord warscythe weave phaeron
Necron Lord warscythe resurrection orb
20xNecron Warriors
Nemesor Zahndrekh Command Barge
Vargard Obyron

You take advantage of Obyron veils, basically you do not scatter when you teleport within 6 of Zahndrekh. You put Obyron in the unit that has 20 warriors, overlord (which gives them relentless), and the lord with a orb. Zahndrekh is in a barge so the first thing you do is move him 24 inches towards your opponent, you then use obyron special veil to teleport 20 warriors next to your enemy, you then shoot 40x gauss shots. Next turn you can shoot 40x shots then charge something! Not to mention you can use the Chen'ek maneuver with Lych Guard who will be able get in assault range by turn 2 or any cc unit for that matter!

If charged by something scary (give them counter-attack Zahndrekh), you can use the veil to leave and go somewhere else or you can leave shoot them than charge.

I know, I know, will someone tell me I am wrong or have I found something that is broken! If I am right I get to name the strategy and its will be called the Chen'ek Maneuver named after my tomb world!

I kinda like the idea, but...
1) you can't assault after you teleport (deepstrike)
2) you will kill a single unit and as it is likely you are close to your enemy your 20 man squad gets decimated by either return fire from their army or a dedicated assault unit tears through that squad. Even Obyron will get killed if they have power weapons

First of all, you are wrong

second of all, even if you where not right, this combo/unit would be more then 700 points.... while still pretty good, it's certanly not as good as, lets say draigo and some pally's

But to the part where you are wrong, you can't assault when you use the veil cause you are deepstriking^^

It's still scary tho

edit:

And if the opponent wants to get rid of oboron (from the unit of warriors) he only has to charge the command barge cause he will teleport to protect his master^^ (owh how i love that rule and fluff!!!!)

If you charge a transport, that doesnt count as charging the unit inside. If they destroy the transport, however, then you are right, obyron jumps out of his unit leaving them without the ghostwalk mantle.

There is one problem commonly associated with deepstriking...

It is commonly known as getting owned by blast templates in the next turn's shooting phase.

I can just imagine guard players smiling as they score ~30 hits with a plasmacutioner.

i was thinking vindicator, but yep. Plasma cannon would make a mess of this unit as well.

Obyron is not a Pheoron either, so no relentless.

That being said Him and Nemesor are still my 2 favorite.

But then wouldn't the Necron player be able to use that, uhm... One-turn Night Fighting rule to protect them? Well... Just brain-storming... Haven't read the codex yet :3

Night fighting isn't very effectve when you place yourself into rapid fire range of the enemy.
