I'd say that, with the exception of the line, "Chaos destroyed it," or whatever, speaking as if "Chaos" is an entity, the narration script was fine, but the voice acting was pretty cringe-worthy. Sounded sort of nasal and probably recorded with some subpar equipment.

To be fair the guy who made this is German, don't know if he wrote the script but it could well suffer from transliteration issues. Sadly one of the issues of English as a world language is that sometimes non-native speakers think they know it inside out but they don't really grasp the idiom, syntax, vernacular, etc. A brilliant technical grasp does not equal fluency. It is not uncommon to hear what sounds to native speakers as very uncomfortable construction, because people feel they have fully learned English and do not always seek the help of native speakers to iron out the idiomatic side of things.

It's gorgeous but the voice acting is absolutely awful.

Animation sucks especially the recoils.
Fire the narrator.

This is like the third thread saying the trailer's up. I wouldn't say the voice acting is terrible cos we haven't really heard any yet (and yes, these guys are from non-English speaking backgrounds).

What we've heard is a voice over.

And I really don't think it's that bad. Or bad at all, even.

Constructive criticism is awesome but sometimes I get the impression that people are picking at things just for the sake of it.

Oh trust me, im not bashing them.

Think outside the box for a moment.

$ costs for creating the models? quite alot.
Its already made, so find someone worthy that can animate it? costs considerably less.

Cost of a competent VA? small factor compared to the whole project. Ruin a nice production to save a few $ on a new VA? not smart at all.

If I'm retouching a pic for someone in my spare time of their LARP character for their char profile, I'm not gonna go and pay money for royalty images, I'll work with what I already have.

Voice acting in Ultramarines was awful too, this has better graphics though. The trailer at least is higher quality then the official 40k movie.

The trailer also has very little in the way of actual animation, as was said in one of the umpteen threads on this topic.

It's mostly just pretty scenery/backdrops, with a few moving parts here and there(rain, the camera panning in and out for the most part). When you see the few bits of "actual animation", such as the Grey Knights firing the Heavy Bolters or the Psycannons--or the Grey Knight "surfing on a Land Raider", it's very jumpy.


But hey. Let's just forget that the teaser trailer for Ultramarines had just as high quality stuff going on as this, right?

The scene with the tanks is pretty rad.
