Ok, this list is not a competitive list but instead the kind of list I see a typical formation of guard to be like. Tell me what you guys think.

HQ: Company Command Squad

Its a total of 73 infantry and 2 Armored Sentinels, Seems to me like quite the force for 750 pts. I actually think orks and to a lesser extent tyrandis might actually ahve a problem with this list.

I am sorta confused by your list due to how you presented it. I have 310pts for your platoons (if everything is doubled, like you say it is), not 265pts. I will suggest the following lay-out for letting people know what is where...

PCS - 45pts
Vox, AC

PIS - 60pts (blob 1)
Vox, Mortar

PIS - 55pts (blob 1)
Mortar

SWS - 60pts
3x flamers

PCS - 45pts
Vox, AC

PIS - 60pts
Vox, Mortar

Now I know each PCS's load-out, I know each platoon has a SWS, I know if a PIS is blobed or not and what they have for equipment.

Since your list is a fluff list, what we say doesn't really matter.... so here goes nothing...

Do not consider your Sentinels to be real AT platforms. It is super easy to get AV 10 side shots on them and the single BS 3 shot means they are lack-luster at best. I will also point out for 75pts you could have a AC HWS. Which is giving you more fire power? Which is easier to take out of the fight? I am putting my money on the AC HWS (in cover, of course, because any other way is dumb).

Putting the Lascannon in the BS 4 CCS that can give itself 'Bring it Down!' to make it twin linked (if needed) is the far better choice.

Empty special weapon slots make me weep for the children. Those special weapon slots are the backbone of IG, don't waste them, specially when your throwing away points on armored sentinels and SWSs. Throw 4 flamers in your PIS and your saving yourself 100pts and your only down 2 flamers for the difference. Blob up and throw in a Commissar and you now only need 1 vox (if you even want it now) and you give your 20 guys Stubborn and Ld 9 for orders vs Ld 8 or SWS Ld 7. A few power weapons to polish off those 100 points and you have fewer guys but they are /better/. Drop the Mortars for ACs to give you the option for transport popping or putting two Str 7 shots into infantry for +5pts. Add a melta bomb for each sergeant incase you run into a Dread, and your set.

In fact, if you /really/ want flamer units, your PCS with 4x Flamers is 10pts /cheaper/ than a 3x flamer SWS /AND/ they have a higher Ld! PCS can also be given a vox (if you really love voxs that much) at the cost of a flamer, still for 50pts. PCS can also be given a heavy flamer (though expensive), a plasma pistol (for some Str 7 punch), Melta bombs (your vehicle didn't move and I can charge it? Don't mind if I do!) and other useful equipment. The only real thing a SWS has over a PCS is the Demo Charge.
