So, I was reading through the codex the other day and I started to think of the Stalkers ability to allow twin linking of all units. What does dakka think of using the Imhotek for 2 maybe 3 turns of night fighting, a cryptek with solar pulse to remove night fighting for the necrons and allow the dooms day arks full range of fire, and over lord for access to another court and cryptek. Give the stalkers a twin linked heavy gauss cannons to keep them out of trouble. Str 9 Ap 1 large blast twin linked would be great for popping vehicles and infantry in the open.

The rest of the list would be Warriors in in GA's. a potential 30 flayer shots twin linked at infantry in the open, or even in cover could be effective crowd control. that averages 26 hits and can pile on the wounds. A unit of wraiths for anti charge.

What do y'all think?

Theoretically sound, but it goes without saying that some test games will be in order. I am going to assume this is meant for a competitive list, that being said it sounds like a strong base. BUt it brings up a few questions:

First off how many points? I can't see this type list being used for anything less than an 1850 point list, just because of the unit costs.

2nd, I'm going to assume about 2 stalkers and 2 arks. Seeing these on the table will draw most of the fire for the first turn. the Arks have quantum shielding so they are relativity safe for the first turn, but come turn 2, I'd think the quantum shield will have been lost and you'll be losing them soon after. Stalkers are likely to have a bit more survivability ( i'm assuming dread/ MC sized), but could end up being like a GK psy-naught (for better or worse).

Crypteks, lords and courts. Where are you going to put them? Putting Crypteks into the Warriors takes away their ability to be carried in the arks. This may not matter but should be considered.

Over all the strategy looks strong and plausible. twin-linked pie plates sounds like a nasty combo with the stalkers and wraiths (whip coils?). And a load of warriors can help kill just about anything with enough shots.

The courts come from The storm lord and the generic over lord. Each of the crypteks would be put with a small foot squad of warriors to hold home objectives.

2 arks 2 Stalkers (Both with QS) was close to what I was figuring. The Night fighting from the Storm lord would help to reduce the amount of incoming fire, also with the potential d6 str 8 ap 5 hits from lightning and the Dooms day arks firing I would hope to eliminate most of the powerful return fire.

Seizing on a 4+ would help to get the alpha strike off.

A couple of the wraiths would posses the whips to allow 4 attacks at str 6 rending would help put a dent in most things.

Points would be around the 1850 or 2k range.

Anything it would struggle with potentially?

You simply can reroll for scatter.

I actually used Two Stalkers, and two Doomsday Arks in my first game.

I can tell you, the twinlinking did not make that much of a diffrence. I almost never scattered with the Doomsday Arks, and even when I did, It didn't make much of a difference.
The Doomsday Arks preformed phenomenly though. I only had to rotate them, never move them, the entire game.

The Stalkers didn't do much, but I was against a Greentide. I think I'll keep them Vanilla, The Heatray I think will have more uses, and even if I'm not within 12' it's still a two shot str 8 Ap 1 weapon.

I think if you field either Doomsday Arks, or the Triarch Stalkers, you need to field at least two of them, preferably with some other AV13 Vehicles, to help soak up some fire.

http://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/410339.page this is the list I was thinking for around 2k. The stalkers would help with horde even as 9 warriors 1 lord or cryptek firing out the open top with the flayer array, all possibly twin linked, would be effective against hordes.
