Hey guys, I've been wondering wow many of you play custom armys (made up forces like "the emperas loyal dogs") and how many play the "package dudes, like ultramarines, goffs, biel tan etc.

I play only custom armys, the Ork "plundaboys" and ome IG pirates

I love making up my own fluff and paint-schemes, so much so that I have ideas plastered all over my walls in the form of drawings and ideas

I just think that it adds character to the models.

Custom background all the way. Creating your armies fluff, to me, makes it more personal and you're more inclined to keep playing your army.

Custom fluff is waaaay better. It lets you take out all the anoying kinks in your army and put in good ones. For example, If you play ultramarines there is nothing wrong with you and you get everything you want (feth you Mat Ward).
If you play something you made up you can choose if you want something grimdark about you, like you have a failing gene seed that can only be kept alive through killing of xenos or heretics
