I have a house rule that makes for fun games. I have GK and a friend that is a Tau player, my house rule is that any global Special Rule can be applied to your ally, so like my Draigo can drop my allies Reserve roll by +-1, I can use his Pathfinders Devil Fish marker beacon to deep strike in for Scatter reroll. It makes for interesting gaming.

The poll is what 2 armies would be your favorite combination, or who would you like to ally with you to complement your army. Outside normal rules for teams, like GK and a Chaos Daemon army can ally if Orks just seem to not be able to keep their nose out of there standoff.

But answering your post.
That rule is normally not allowed in doubles tournaments (that I know of) certain armies have certain rules that others don't for a reason, start using other armies special rules might be fun, but will eventually get exploited and not be fun at all..

Favourite combo, well I would rather go for something like CSM and Daemons, Or IG and GKs, you know something that might actually happen. But If I wanted the most a combo that would be fun and effective i'd probably go Daemons and GKs, mid/close range shooty power added to close range assault power from Daemons (as well as GKs) would be a great in your face combo.

But personally, i'm not too keen on doubles. I'm sure they can be fun but most of the games i've played doubles or 3/4 way (not all that many to be fair) haven't been that good.

An Eldar Farseer throwing Fortune on a Paladin Deathstar with an Apothecary. The only thing that would cause damage would be a Demolisher Cannon. And even then they might have a cover save.

It’s a fun game when all 4 players are using as much OP rules as they can, as for Daemons and GK, that makes table superiority, but so far in my local shop the hardest pair has been Daemons and SM. The SM puts every unit in DS or drop pods, and uses scouts with homing beacons. In the first turn all the Daemons arrive within 12”(behind cover) and assault the next turn. As a GK player I wipe out the first wave, but my Tau ally takes a lot of loses, and the SM player and rest of the reserve Daemons lay it down for 2 turns and come to a loss. It’s always fun tho.
