In the last game I played, I played against grey knights with a dread knight. My opponent teleported his dread knight on to an objective I was controlling. The objective was on difficult terrain. The base was less then half way on the terrain. Was this move legal.

Yup. Only thing he would have had to do was take a dangerous terrain test for moving like jump infantry (they count difficult terrain as dangerous when using the jump ability) and if failed would get his invulnerable save.

But there was only about an inch of terrain not covered by my guys for him to move on to.

... And? Are you saying he was off the board, even partially?

If he was on the board, and in range of the objective to contest, I don't see a problem here.

lost_soul,

Do not post the same thread in 2 forums in the future please. If you accidently do it, simply hit the yellow mod-alert triangle and request a move.

Thanks!

So? If he was still completely on the game board and at least 1" away from your unit then it was perfectly legal.

Be careful of that in the future. Dreadknights w/ Personal Teleporters and Incerceptors often use their 30" shunt move (or even just the 12" move + run) to contest objects in the last turn or two of a game.

It's actually a very common strategy. Other armies will do the same. Tanking shocking vehicles to the objective, moving or running to context, etc play a huge part of the last turn of an objective game. You just have to take that into account and remember that you can also do similar to contest.

Well I took it out with a rattling on the last shooting phase so I was good but it still pissed me off.
