Designed with MEQ's in mind. my other main opponent is eldar, and i think QS will be interesting against those lances!

Overlord (225)
- CCB (gauss Cannon)
- Scythe
-Phaseshifter

2 x Triarch Stalkers (300)

10x Warriors, w/ Ghost Ark (245)
10x Warriors w/GhostArk (245)

2x 6 scarab swarms (180)

2 xTomb spyders (100)
2 x annihilation Barges, gauss cannons (180)

Total 1475

the lord is a bit pricey, but i expect the CCB to get melta'd to bits. Triarch stalkers seem a fragile for what they are - a Dread CC weapon would make them maybe worth it, but i don't know how the twin linked rule will work and if they may be useful in terms of distraction value. the other option are lychguard in nighscythe, but that loses a bit of the mech feel....

Personally I think the Stalkers are best used where you have a ton of tesla shots to put out. You don't really, so I'd consider dropping them. I'd also cut the PS on your HQ. Put a gloom prism on one of your spiders for wound allocation shenanigans, and consider taking a third one with a fab array. They're rather undercosted since you're basically making 30 points back on each one for the first two turns.

The CCB probably isn't getting melta'd to bits, since he still makes the sweep attacks when moving flat out. the 4+ save will mean that it'll take more than a single melta shot to reliably bring it down (2/3rds of the shots will whiff altogether!)

Why are you saving 25 pts? Could at least grab one more scarab.

sorry, i should have probly been clearer and asked "and what could i do with the extra 25 points!"

@ostrakon, thanks, not something i considered fully. I can't wait till the new models come out so I can playtest...

I think with the extra points i'll add a lone spyder...a few T6 MC wounds, helping a scarab squad can't hurt too much, even though running in pairs would be preferable. or just boost the existing squad to 3?

I have had the greatest luck with my Stalkers running them with TL Heavy Gauss Cannons. Gives them a long range AT punch and allows you more flexibility for targetting systems.

I didn't even think of that, was so entranced by the double melta option :p

But some math-hammer shows that the heat ray is as good or better at glancing and/or penetrating, so really you're dishing out extra points for the range and the subsequent targetting relay effectiveness, whilst losing out on the melta and template combo.

i guess it just comes down to preference, but i'll probly save the points...for now at least!

at the end of the day, i'm keeping the stalkers for a bit of AT punch, and keeping in the mech theme. It provides a couple of juicy targets, so mahybe use them (expensive) distractions, or deploy near another unit as a melta deterrent...

Cannock

What's the point in the phase shifter on the Overlord when he's on the Barge smashing vehicles? If he gets over he's probably dead thanks to weight of fire, so I would leave phase shifter at home.

Triarch Stalkers are cool, but I feel for the points they won't be affective because they will become victim of target priority. See how theya re I guess.

Yeah I took that off to add another spyder (see above post).

Agreed on the stalkers' cost... It'll be interesting to see how useful they are with targeting relay but i think they have to be seen as a tactical option rather than a reliable AT. If they're just lasting one turn but soaking up extra fire and helping me annihilate another killr unit, then great. It they're a flop, oh well, depends on the other person's tactics too... Only way to find out is to play test so really hoping the models come out soon!
