What is your favorite unit? and why?

Ork Big Mek W/ KFF; Nothing beats saying alright I get a cover save and than having to explain why.

Space Marine Honour Guard. 2+ save and power weapons as standard, with the option to take relic blades and a Champion with a thunder hammer. Stick a Chapter Banner in there and you have yourself a might fine combat unit. Yeah they're pricey, but even if they don't serve their purpose (Which they normally do though) they provide an excellent distraction for the rest of the army to work around.

9 Space marine scouts with snipers and missile launcher, and telion.

Now you have a troop unit that is hard to shift (thanks to stealth) has scout, infiltrate and move through cover, so they can get to that objective quickly, and not to bad at shooting, espicially at high toughness or low leadership units, and are not that expensive (compared to other space marine units)

Seer Council, give me re-rollable 3+/4++ saves anyday.

Ironclad dreadnought with drop-pod and all the goodies. Has the highest killing rate in my army

Genestealers are my favourite and least favourite unit
Love them because they are brilliant in combat, look cool and kill things.
Hate them because most of the time they are killing my army.....

DKoK Death Riders.

Awesome models plus they're WS4 Rough Riders with a 6++ save.

Sternguard with combi-meltas all the way baby.

A three way tie between IG Vets, XV8s, and Henchmen Warbands.

IG Vets: Spam three special weapons, but them in a Chimera or valk/vendetta and they are great at killing things. Plus while the doctrines are expensive they are fun and add flavor to them. Same with Bastonne and Harker. Plus the chance to kitbash them or use the older OOP metal models is always fun.

XV8s: I love the models, even if they are not the most popular looking ones out there. Also they are center piece in an Tau army and for me connect on a level of the ranged specialist using tech to kill things from a distance.(I am not the biggest fan of close combat). Plus with the current mechanized scene it is nice to to have units that can survive while not hiding in a transport.

Henchmen Warbands: Some of the same reasons as why I like the vets. Plus I like the idea of Jokaeros. Also they are very customizable, in that you can make a good CC or ranged unit and do well as count as units.

Except for a dedicated close combat unit...

My favorite unit is Sternguard veterans. They serve a similar purpose to tactical Marines, but can kill just about anything through weight of wounds or medium AP shots. Even vehicles and hordes aren't a problem, since you can gear them up with so many combi-weapons you'll want to puke. Add in the fact they have 2 attacks base and I usually stick them around Pedro for a 3rd attack each, and I've got a unit that can take on almost any threat. Conversely, Pedro Kantor is one of my favorites for how he buffs all his buddies around him and lets my Sternguard take objectives.

LRBT Executioner w/ lascannon and plasma side sponsons. Idc if it costs as much as a Land Raider, it kills more than one and can be taken in squadrons.
