Hey guys, I believe I have found an upgrade wich could have one of the best price-effectiveness. Put it on two nobs, and you will seriouly mess up someones battle-plans. Imagine a drive-by-scorching on something that doesnt have a 3+ armor save! Instant rape! Imagine how many Tau and Eldar player are gonna hate your nobs just for THAT upgrade; 2+ to drop a 10pt dude, and it auto-hits 5 of them. GREAT!
I found out about their awsomness in my battles aginst my bros eldar, who frequently get squad-wiped. And the greates thing is; Youll only spend 5 POINTS, wich is nothing compared to the 20 pts the IG dex wants for the same thing (hf)

What is your experience with shoota-scorchas? do you use them? If not, I strongly recommend you to!

Since its a combiweapon, you can only fire the scorcha once per game.
Since orks big weakness in shooting is their low BS, template weapons are great for them because you don't need to roll to hit.
...Wound allocation shenanigans? I think we're done here

admit it, you dont really use a flamer more than once a game, right? you spend 2 turns getting there, ten you flame, assault, get killed and thats it

...All the time, as I drive around in my rhino's and flame people from the hatch. Or in my battlewagon with 15 burna boyz, In that case I'd flame 3+ times a game. Like you said, two turns to get to flame/assault, but I try to avoid the "get killed" bit. So I can go on to flame other units.

If you want flamers and you play orks, Burnas are amazing. Shove 10-15 in a BW w/ RPJ and other stuff you may want.

I use them only for Wound shenangins. As should anyone. Nobz will crush everything in assault. Well mostly.

I love them, but i generally never get to use them, as people have the anoying habit of removing the front guys meaning that nobz can have a hard time getting in and wreck face after burninating them first...

Burnaz are just the bane of the endless swarms of gaunts tyranids have, but putting them into close combat just gets them killed.
Shoota/skorcha's are one time uses, so good to make nobz adaptable, but if you want 15 burnaz in a BW with a big mek w/ kustom force field, its gonna burn stuff EVERY turn, 15 templates!

Love them! Back before the new Ork Codex came out I was playing Armageddon Speed Freaks. I maxed out every flame template I could. I had one Battlewagon with 4 Skorchas and 3 Skorcha Trakks; back when they were more expensive than Rokkit Buggies. Everything had Spikes and Blades and could move 12" and still fire it's weapons. . .

Now only my Biker Boss has one and it still preforms well, kills more marines than anything else even though it's still only AP 4. I used to run 6 of them in my 10 Nob mob. I used the Chaos Marine Combi-bolter, it also looks Cyborky.

I may be way off giving this advice, but it sounds a lot like a rules mis-call I only corrected just recently. If this is the case, ignore the following.

I used to play an assault by using each initiative to figure out who can fight, who hits what, and so on. This caused issues when I had ICs with Power Fists or lower initatives than my opponent, since I would generally kill a few, then he would remove the models in base contact with him (eg, Initiave 3). By the time I got down to them, they had nothing to hit.

However... the BGB clearly states that who can fight is determined at the beginning of the combat, not each initiative. So Mr. Spess Mahreen Cap-i-tan could have munched more face.

Azrinae Chapter - 7300 pts

Eldar - 2250 pts
Necron - 1500 pts

Less mis-call; more misundertanding what rana dandra was saying.

You are correct on the assault rules themselves, what rana dandra was talking about was the front models being removed from the shooting; when they are shot down and the Nobz are left just outside of 6"; no assault will be taking place since the nobz do not have the movement to successfully engage the burned/shot-up unit.

of course that assumes 2 things:
1) That the orks were only 5-6" away when shooting
2) That the orks killed enough models to have the unit further than 6" from all models.

This is my Rulebook. There are many Like it, but this one is mine. Without me, my rulebook is useless. Without my rulebook, I am useless.
Stop looking for buzz words and start reading the whole sentences.
