So the only way to have a group of relentless Wraiths DSing around the field dropping Exile Beamers is the have an Overlord with Relentless and Obyron (because Crypteks themselves cannot join units of Wraiths and Obyron is the only Overlord that comes with a Veil.)

So:

Obyron
Lord W/Phaeron
5 Wratihs w/Exile Ray (can't remember exact nomenclature).

So it all works out to around 500pts.

What you get is a unit that can DS and shoot 5 Strength tests into anything within 12". (And pimp slap something in close combat if need be).

While not overwhelming awesomeness against grunts, potential fun times against high point cost models.

Depending on the strength of the target, that's some potential fun times:

S5+= .83 Models
S4= 1.67 Models
S3= 2.5 Models
S2/1= Nothing in the game you would want to waist such an expensive Units fire power on.

So, lets keep in mind the above is Models, not Wounds. I'm pretty certain Skill Checks always fail on a 6, but I haven't read that section of the BRB in awhile.

So assuming that is correct, you're looking at pretty good chance of one shotting (er, well 5 shotting, but one volley) any MS in the game.

Against Terms and the like you should be picking off 1 to 2 with each volley.


In Summary....Potential. You could make some pricey Death Stars cry with just the shooting volley (not to mention the 15 S6 rending attacks, Plus Obyrons WS and whatever you give the Phaeron Lord). It's Effectively the Anti-Death Star...Star.

What do y'all think? It's silliness to a large degree, effectively making your wraiths a gimmicky Veil jump and shoot unit, but it's literally the only reason I can think of to really utilise their Heavy 1 shot.

So I somehow Derped that it's actually 6 Models max for Wraiths, not 5.

So full volley looks more like this:

S5+ = 1 Model
S4 = 2 Models
S3 = 3 Models

Also, if your taking Obyron you might as well take a DSing Chrono Protect Nemesor, that way you can more accurately align Oberon's DS.

The more I think about it the more I want to give it a shot. I could see potentially devastating Elites and HQs.
