Finally got up the courage to start painting my tyranid army. I am doing a dark flesh carapace on a black body, so all I need is dark flesh tone paint. I have black primer that I am just leaving bare for their bodies, and a set of acrylics from walmart that I can use for eyes, tongues, and teeth but I want to get some dark flesh paint from vallejo to insure I dont get differing shades on my minis from improper mixing of the walmart set. Which leads to my question. Is there a difference in Vallejo Game and Vallejo Model paints? The paint comparison chart has shades equating to dark flesh for both lines. I am not sure which I need to order.

To me, only the range of the colors is different.

Cheers.

The Game Color Line is similar to the GW range - from tone to name.

The Model Color range tends to have a greater variety off colors and the colors are more muted and matte in my experience.

If you find a nice tone in the VMC line go for it. Another option would be the flesh tone in the Extra Opaque lineup - which covers nicely over the black primer you plan to use.

Cheers,

For blending and layering, Vallejo Model Air are beautiful to work with. Don't assume they're just for the airbrush, cos they're fantastic all round paints.
