You need more eldritch lances as you lack serious anti tank. The time splinter cloaks is also pointless, 3+ invulnerable for a single wound model? Erm, no thanks.
Scarabs probably won't get passed turn 1, you don't even have a Spyder to boost their numbers. Add more Scarabs or a few Spyders, if not ditch the Scarabs.
Doomsday Ark isn't that good and neither is the Monolith. if you really need to take these then get another of one of them and drop the other.

Ok. Doomsday Ark cannot move and fire at full strength. This means if you're getting los blocked you have to move again. If against outflanking units then you will be auto hit.
Monolith, all it's weapons are short ranged, which puts it into melta range. The portal is a cool weapon, but with D6" range it's not awesome, especially when you roll low. The only benefit of the Monolith is to teleport unit, and for 200 points I don't think it's worth it.
On both lists I would add solar pulse. It's a massive bonus for a Necron army.

I wouldn't be SO quick to judge the Monolith harshly. Yeah it's lost a lot of it's flare from the previous codex, but 200 points for an all around AV 14 tank is still pretty nice. Although I'll be the first to admit we probably won't get to see them really shine until 6th if the proposed rumour changes are true . . . if not I'd expect to see them fade away <.<

Well in all honesty people are probably going to say you'll get the most bang for your buck with either Spiders, Barges or Doom Scythes for the HS choice, depending on the build of your army of course. There's a lot of synergy with using scarabs to knock down enemy tank AV and then using Barges to finish them off . . . STR 7 AP - doesn't matter too much when you've lowered a tanks AV by 3 to 4 points.
With the amount of Immortals you're looking to bring as well, maybe that's the better way to go with your HS choices?

I personally like the doomsday arks and think they are understated the larger the point game is. At 2k points he can pretty much park them to get good los at objectives and the enemy has to come deal with them eventually. And yes its "only" a str 7 ap4 weapon when it moves but thats still pretty damn good. Don't forget it has a gauss flayer arrays which just helps the closer the enemy comes.

The Doomsday ark is your only answer to super terminators. It has 72" range, just place it in the center of the your table edge and your safe from outflankers and there is nothing you can hit with it.
Monolith particle whip is 36" and is the only other long range weapon that isnt a eldritch lance. It can move and fire adn can rapid redeploy your army. Have one or two of these moving up the flank is a fantastic way to maintain mobility.

I agree with most of what you said, however, the Monolith's weapons are all 24", or shorter. It can be an enormous monkey wrench in your opponents plans if you can deep strike it where you want it. There are also a couple of weapons past 24" that everyone seems to overlook. The lance, the Doomsday cannon, of course. The Tremorstave, the harp of dissonance, and the heavy gauss cannon also have a long range, but they never get mentioned.

The Monolith can move and fire all of its weapons, so that gives it an effective threat range of 30". That's really not that short ranged at all. Plus its the only true above AV 11 vehicle in the Dex. Plus It is the only unit in existence that damage 6 different targets at once (well, outside of crazy pie plate placement).
Using the portal as a weapon can't really be understated, and honestly I think its more of a deterrent then a weapon. Crons don't want assault units anywhere near their foot sloggers, and running a Lith at the front of your phalanx should be a pretty solid deterent.

It's not a huge range isn't it? This puts it close to multi meltas, meltas, lances etc stuff which couldn't hurt it before. If I remember right ordnance didn't get the 2D6 before, but do now, so short ranged Vindicators will make a nasty threat as the blast must seriously scatter to miss.
Running at a Monolith isn't a problem for me, especially with melta bombs and meltas - that's the time when people are running at it.

You mean "move and fire" not "move and fire all it's weapons", right? It was my understanding that since the Particle Whip is Ordnance it's either that or the gauss arcs.

Well it's not 2d6 armor penetration for ordinance, but roll 2d6 and pick the highest. On the subject of doomsday arks, I wouldn't take them. I think they're great, but they don't work in stromlord builds. Night fighting applies to you too, and every turn that you're not shooting is a turn that model is being wasted. You have to either wait for night fighting to end(not recommended) or use a solar pulse on your own turn(also not recommended).

I run a 36 warrior army all in Ghost Arks so lots of Dakka! with Lords for the 4+ RP. Don't forget they are open-toppeed so you shouldn't have to get out. I have The Stormlord for cover and Crypteks for anti-tank. So far I have yet to lose.

You're right, ordnance states you may not fire any other weapons that turn, even though gauss is defensive at str 4, the ordnance rule specifically states you may not fire defensive weapons either.

I'd take an annihilation barge, not the catacomb. If you want to make some meaty kills I'd take one of those. Your phaeron can be re-deployed out of the monolith, and then you should be able to play a fire dragons like role with the barge (kill 1-3 units and then get killed yourself). All necron vehicles (except the monolith) will not survive long. Also take scarabs, they are underestimated greatly because they are small. A large swarm is even better than your doomsday cannon imo, because a tank will not be able to kill them all. I think you should keep both arks, and remove some warriors.
