Acquired a Great Unclean One recently. I love the old school flavor of the model ... up to a point. That point being his big chunky sword. It's not very attractive, and not particularly Nurgley either. I think a weapon swap is in order, so here I am begging for ideas.

What I had in mind was a gnarled, ancient-looking club. Couldn't really find anything suitable in the 40k line, but maybe something from Fantasy would work? I thought maybe a Giant's club would work..but it's a little "cleaner" than I'd like (and maybe too big? I'm not very familiar with Fantasy models, or any other non-40k model line). Anything else out there jump to mind?

All suggestions are appreciated (clubs or otherwise). I'd just like to know what my options are before taking the plunge! Thanks in advance.

You could try the use the lotr cave troll, a little GS on the mace/mallet and it will look great

Could model a big scythe from something (not sure what) or grab one of the wrecking balls off an Ork trukk kit. Could be kinda cool.

What about going out and finding a suitable wooden stick?

Check out the nurgle dreadnought using parts off the skaven doombell. Now replace the GUO's sword with that like a huge flail.

Thanks everyone for the suggestions! I had completely forgotten the LOTR range, so the troll weapons are definitely of interest. Hopefully I can find the weapons by themselves, but it looks like the whole kit could be full of useful bits.

The wrecking ball/doombell suggestions are both great, though I don't know if I have the requisite modeling skills to give them proper "motion" on the model. Also my clumsiness makes me fearful for fragile plastic chains in my general vicinity... I like the idea of a flail/mace a lot though, would look really appropriate in GUO's hand.

Getting a real stick is actually a fantastic idea. Problem being it is presently cold and wet where I am. Also, I have no idea how my paints will work on wood---but I want to give this a try as well...could definitely give it a unique look!

Hmm...maybe Nightbringer's scythe? That could be tricky to get right..but I like it! As for the Plague Censer: awesome idea, but aren't they infantry size? I hadn't considered Skaven stuff at first, but I'm sure they have a lot of great Nurgley bits. Will have to take a closer look at their model range when I get home...
