Right i have a dilemma scorpion claws.
It says in the codex they are basically power fists but do they strike at initiative 1?

Yes. Scorpion Claws are PF and thus follow all the rules associated therein.

Greebo had spent an irritating two minutes in that box. Technically, a cat locked in a box may be alive or it may be dead. You never know until you look. In fact, the mere act of opening the box will determine the state of the cat, although in this case there were three determinate states the cat could be in: these being Alive, Dead, and Bloody Furious.

Also, keep in mind that you can't use the Claw and the Scorpion Chainsword at the same time. So, the Claw only gives the exarch S6, and not 7 or 8.

You have a choice -
+1 S and +1 Attack
Double Str, ignore armour, Init 1
+1 S and +1 additional S per hit
+1 A with re-roll of failed hits/wounds
(Forgot about the chainsabres, fixed biting blade, thanks Grakmar)

Fixed that last point for you. Biting Blade has a +1S on top of the +1S per hit.
Just wait till you charge a stationary vehicle. 4 S8 hits on rear armor takes care of just about anything!  Monoliths and Land Raiders excluded
