I was thinking that Sentinels aren't given full access to the Imperial Guard armory for inexplicable reasons I think that should be fixed. I realize that the multi-lazor is probably better than some of the other weapons choices given to other vechs, but i don't see any reason why shouldn't be able to take them if you want.

First off, allow sentinels to take a Heavy bolter instead of a multilasor.

Secondly why not allow sentnels to take a twin linked heavy stubber or 2 or stormbolters.

Why not allow for "pintle" mounted weapons. On open top you could mount it right in front of the driver and on armored you could mount it on the bottom in between the legs.


Of course what iw ould most like to see is the ablity to take a second weapon on the other sid eof sent instead of being relegated to just one weapon.

I'm sorry to say it, but not a lot of people would take these options even if they were available in the codex anyway. They are very fluffy though, and I wouldn't mind an opponent using such sentinels against me.

I've often felt that it's odd that hte sentinel is the only walker to only have one weapon. Every other walker has either two ranged weapons, or at least two ranged weapons and a DCCW.

They've tried to cost the sentinel to make up for it, and unlike all other walkers they are Fast Attack, not heavies (or elites).

The HB option, is IIRC, a FW rule, along with the multi-melta.

Personally, i think that sentinels should be able to buy a pintle mounted heavy stubber, flamer, or grenade launcher for 5pts. But they just recut the sprure and that will simply never happen.

They got a new buddy in the Triarch Stalker which only has 1 gun.

This is an actual rule in the actual rulebook. Quit whining about how you can imagine someone's army touching you in a bad place and play by the actual rules.

I like the sound of two guns on a sentinel too, but how would he fire both and drive it at the same time. Unless he's got three arms? Mutant! Blam!

I'll take the Punisher cannon though, that would look so cool!

Punisher cannon +50 just because it belongs on tanks, andonly on heavy sentinals

I agree all weapons should be twin linked

Haha its a little funny to see how often old topics that die roll back around again... let see, my humble opnion on the sentinal using previous ideas from several threads back:
OVERALL:
-heavy flamer is free for all sentinals
-heavy bolter 5pts
-multimelta 15pts
-scout sentianl may also purchase a sentinal CCW at 15pts in addtion to there regular armament

Armoured sentinal:
The armoured sentinal may be upgraded to carry a secondary co-axel weapon at 5pts consisting of:
free - storm bolter or heavy stubber
5pts - GL
5pts - Flamwer
10pts - meltagun
15pts - plasmagun
10pts - sentinal CCW (+2 str +1 atk)
25pts - sentinal power claw (counts as a DCW)
10pts - hunter killer missle

The armoured sentinal may still puchase another hunter killer missle for 10pts in addition to the secondary weapons slot.

Extra things that also might fall under consideration:
20pts- Scout sentinal power pack: provides extra boost of speed for the sentinal driver to scout and avoid engagements. Grants +2" to movement while running on a 4+
20pts: your idea for the sentinal punisher cannon, mounted exclusively on armoured sentinals due to weight and ammo needs.

Or, Laser is not Lazor. That is incredibly annoying.

Why would you want a heavy bolter? Laserftw.

Propose to me how you plan to fit two stormbolters on a sentinel and make it look cool, and I will make it for you.

Stubbers aren't great.

I don't care about pintle mounted weapons, and I doubt any other people do. They're nice extras which shouldn't be found on a one-man piloted walker.

Noone else would really go for these options. I honestly can't imagine sentinels being important in a guard army, unless you're going for a theme [in which case all these points are void. ]

In small games (500-750) I generaly use 2 sentinals w Plamsa cannons, a couple vet squads, a chimera, and a Lord Commisar. Works extramly well, unless im against av 13, then its challenging av14 I cant even penetrate, or glance.

In apoc games, I take sentinals because theyre less than infantry spam, and easier to find in my box.

Sentinals can be extramly effective, if used correctly, and small pt game is lucky to have a sentinal, and due to their low cost, you can field 2 decent sentinals, over 1 jacked up dreadnought. give or take 15pts.

I will have to go with impguard with this one, sentinals do have a purpose, especially scout sentinals. The ability to outflank a bunch of cheap thin armoured guns on the backfeild means that you can be putting out alot of side armour shots for a small investment. The only reason you dont see them and anything other fast attack choice more often is because of the valk's and the vendettas being under-priced. The armoured sentinal on the other hand falls in disuse because the chimera fills its niche and offers other uses on top of that.
