HI dakka.
I was recently on the GW website, reading through the background on each model. It struck me that they seem to have MUCH more emotion and feeling then the old codex.
Shouldn't the still be souless, mindless, killl machines?
O well, just my opinion, whats yours?

The fluff is that each Tomb World is different and they all have their own ambitions, goals, and methods of doing things.

If you want your Tomb World to be the older (better) nothing-but-automatons fluff, you can. Warriors are basically barely above automatons anyways.

They changed the fluff. For whatever reason, they felt the faceless mindless cosmic horror route wasn't the way to go, so decided to completely change the nature of the Necron-C'Tan relationship and the nature of the Necrons themselves.

Whether or not that's "how it should be" is... irrelevant, I suppose. It is what it is. A lot of people hate it, and a lot of people like it, and a lot of people don't care either way. I don't mind it so much, except for one thing: The change in the C'Tan means no more 'Dragon on Mars/Dragon is the Machine God' plot thread, which I really liked and hoped they'd do something with.

Moving thread to 40K Discussions.

I'm writing a load of fiction. My latest story starts here... This is the index of all the stories...

We're not very big on official rules. Rules lead to people looking for loopholes. What's here is about it.

It doesn't mean that at all. That plot thread has not changed in the slightest.

I think they kind of ground to a halt on that one, because if he woke the IOM would be stuffed, and the last couple of editions have had the IOM on the brink of stuffedness anyway..

Mind you it is emotionally satisfying to reflect that the Big E didn't beat him down necessarily either

Either he's still there (i'm good with this ) or it's a shard of him (not so good) or its some other multi-dimentional entity, like the one that gave lady Malys her heart..

I'd like a little more detail on the whole 'Dragon of Mars' thing, now the fluff has been retconned to hell and begone, but i doubt we'll get it...

Actually, It has been said that the being that talked to lady Malis was Cegorach.

I dont care much about the fluff except for the machine god. As long as that stay's, i'm happy.

You're not playing the game like I play it...why aren't you playing the game like I play it?! O_O

Said by who?

It might well be him, but there are no indicators that it actually was in the codex. Do you have another fluff source on it, because i'd be interested in reading it

Machine God will stay, in one form or another, otherwise where would the IOM get their new shinies from, aliens?
