Drop the mandrakes...they're pretty useless.

I'd raise the wyches to 9-man squads with a Heamonculi with liquifier gun to give them FNP. Outfit the squad with Hekatrix w/ agoniser and give them haywire grenades

I don't have my codex with me to double check my points but my list would look somethin like this.

wyches x 9 .......... 90
Hekatrix ............. 15
Agonizer ............. 20
Haywire .............. 18
Haemonculi w/ liqui .. 60
Raider w/ FF ........ 70

another squad setup the same 273

Ravager w/ FF ...... 115

Malys ................... 150
Grotesques x3 ........ 105
Raider w/ FF .......... 70

Should be close to 1000 pts. Doesnt leave room for the warriors, but you could use incubi instead of grots and run an archon instead of Malys and probobly fit in room for a 5-man warrior squad with a blaster in a venom with dual splinter cannons.

DE - 2500 pts.

I would reccomend dropping the mandrakes and getting more darklight weaponry. If you like Malys shes alright but not the best choice. My best advice is to read the Dark Eldar Tactica in the articles section.

Look at how many skimmers you have, 2 Venoms, 2 Raiders and a Ravager, for my 1000 point list I have Venom, 3 Raiders and a Ravager, very similar.

3 Grotesques and Malys is a very powerful unit, 5x mandrakes are not, and neither are 5x wyches. 10x Kabalites is fine fire support.

I digress, check the DE tactica, the writer is a better player than I.

Thank you, and I really do want to keep the Malys cause I like her.
I will look at the article and see what I think.

Thank you for the advice.

Hey no problem, while Malys isn't great she's not terrible either and is fine for games against friends and such. Her ability to redploy units can (especially in smaller games) really feth up your opponent.

Hey there,

I don't have my codex to hand, so will post a better reply as soon as I can, my initial thoughts are that you could / should take a haemonculus with WWP with the grotesques, also give him and 1 of the grotesques a liquifier, and you have a hellishly heavy hitting unit with FNP straight off the bat. Zip these guys right up the flank on turn one, drop 'em out of the raider, drop the WWP and spring everything else from there. Put Malys with a wych squad too, she'll be getting in close with those weapons so wych special weapons will be a welcome addition.

I agree that you need more darklight weaponry, though wouldn't swap the DC on the raider, as this gives you a higher chance of doing damage with 3 shots as opposed to one.

Maybe put in another ravager in place of the mandrakes (I'm loathe to say this, as I really want a list with mandrakes in it to work! I think this is the best way of saving points to beef up your big gun support though)

Like I say, when I have my 'dex in hand I'll be able to see if this will actually fit in to a 1000 point list!

Cheers,

Kitch102

Thank you for your suggestions, i would of liked to have madrakes in there, that's why they were put in firstly.

All your suggestions look viable, will have a play around with army list soon and post updated one when I get some time

I'm the same, I want to use Mandrakes and have 10 waiting to be painted, they're just not the most tactically sound, at least until they've had their first unit kill and got their pain token for the ranged attack.

The only way I can see around this is:

1) Start them off on your table edge with a haemonculus, near a unit in a raider
2) Disengage the haemy, leaving his pain token with the 'drakes
3) Get the 'drakes on the nearby raider and shoot off in to the distance

The disadvantages are:

1) Lose the element of surprise
2) Start on the wrong side, facing the enemies guns
3) That's a lot of points just to give them more options in combat
4) Your haemy and the original owner of the raider (or venom) are then stranded waiting for another transport to come along. This potentially leaves them out of range for 2 turns

They'd be sound against small Orc / Guard squads, though I don't think that you'll find a unit small enough to decimate in 1 turn with them. If they had power weapons, then they'd be so much more attractive and viable, but sadly wishlisting doesn't amount to much :(

I'm with you though, I want them to be good, and will try to find as many ways as possible to make them effective (I bought 'em, I WILL use 'em, someday, somehow )

I personally prefer big units of wyches and small units of warriors rather than the way you have it. If you want some small tweaks to make your current list more competitive, I'd recommend dropping the phantasm grenade launchers on your wyches. They're expensive, and wyches already have plasma grenades. Next, switch the disintegrator cannons out for dark lances. You always need more anti tank in a dark eldar army since your poisoned guns and s3 melee are literally useless against vehicles. Finally, use the points from the grenade launchers to add flickerfields to all of your vehicles. They give our paper vehicles a chance at survival.
