Hey guys I am looking at trying to convert some stuff to Razorbacks with Assault Cannons, and dreadnought with TL AC's on both arms. I got looking at the LRC Conversion Pack from GW (http://www.games-workshop.com/gws/catalog/productDetail.jsp?catId=cat440335a&prodId=prod80002a.)

I figure that is going to be the best Assault Cannons I can get. As I am grimacing about the cost of buying and upgrading each of the 5 Razorbacks I will need I see something interesting that may work for TL AC's for the Psyfleman. I got looking at the sprue the flame thrower for the redeemer variant. If I cut off the hoses and clean it up a little and attach it to the HB arm and ML arm do you think that would qualify for WYSIWYG TL AC's?

That's pretty much where the assault cannon turrets for razorbacks come from - looted from LRCs.

As for the autocannons for dreads.

The quad gun interceptor unit for the planetstrike set (with the walls) is the most commonly used source for those.

Find someine with a dark angels army. They will have a bunch of extra assault cabnons you can convert from there.

Are they a direct fit or will I have to convert? (My understanding was they still required a conversion, that's why I was wondering if the barrels from the redeemer flamer would work.)

You will still have to convert the cannons in order to make them fit.

Myself, I have used spare assault cannon and missile pod plastic arms, and made the autocannon (pairs) barrels to suit.

Remove the assault cannon barrel cluster, mount two barrels on this flat bit you now have.

For the missile pod side, do NOT attach the missile cluster plate.
Remove the blast vents on the side (file/sand/cut off with sharp knife).
Glue two barrels to front of arm (where launcher plate normally goes).

If you want the ammo feeds for that side, a spare ammo drum or two can be sourced from guard players or bits sites.

I've done two dreads this way (but I tend to source all the bits I need at one time from convention 2nd hand sales, not internet bits merchants).

Just buy some Ravenwing upgrade sprues, I think they're 13.25 USD. 1 TL assault cannon, 1 TL heavy bolter, and lots of other stuff.
