I used to love dipping in and out of this forum to see peoples ideas/bulds but of late the amount of duplication and standard armies that have been done to death has lowered the quality significantly imo.

Would it be an idea to have a sticky at the top with some very generic standard builds, that new players (or even lazy ones) could reference?
I have no doubt some people wont read it but for those that do it might stop another "Ork Kanwall 1500" thread.
In a lot of cases the armies posted need simple tweaks or suggestions but in essence are a direct duplication of a hundred other posts.

As an example you could have an Ork thread sticky for its builds:
Footsloggers
Kan wall
Wagon Rush
Shoota list

Nothing amazingly indepth and keeping it simple will be key, just the main 3-4 builds for each army with a suggested army list for each.
Yes, everyones idea of a Kan Wall will vary slighly but the idea is to have a basic starting reference point for new players or those that have a 90% complete army and just need a tweak.

No problems working on it and PMing a few of the more "experienced guys" to get basic builds up.

A runner?

Worth putting some time into this oh esteemed Moderatti?

Excuse the slow reply on my part - yes it would be very useful, if you (or someone) were willing to put the time in, and if everyone could agree what constitutes the basic list in those cases.

No problem Lego, I'll run with it initally so and see how we get along.
Agreed fully that coming to a consensus on "standard" builds will be key.

Probably work

I really like this idea. I've heard grumblings about how every army in army lists looks the same a couple times now.

I've begun the project here, albeit small scale for anyone that is interested:
