Hey Dakkadakka,

It's been a long time coming with this Land Raider, its taken me about three weeks to get through it all but here it is.

It was a repaint so not all the coverage is smooth (due to the first time I painted it I rushed the snot out of it)

In some cases I've included a before and after where I had pic's and for those who are interested I have a blog here on Dakka with progress of current projects - http://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/349329.page

Love the color. It actually looks very smooth for a repaint. Over all, great work!

My only suggestions would be to better center the "MARAT" text on the front door, and try and straighten out the assault cannon on the right. From the photos, it looks like it is bending slightly inward.

Fantastic work Knightley! your work just goes to show that having a smooth clean coat of paint can look 10x better than trying to shade and weather them! great stuff, you should be very happy and proud of that raider!

That's some serious improvement! Well done.
But take care of the aformentioned bent assault cannon.

The new paintjob, while nice, is wasted by not drilling out your barrels!

I was thinking the same thing. Good looking paintjob. Go back and drill those holes, adds so much to the look of the model.

Really nice restoration of a downtrodden Land Raider, Knightley. Well worth the time spent, IMO. As for the people complaining about the undrilled barrels: that ship has sailed. This is the old-school metal/plastic hybrid kit and those sponsons assemblies are a pain in the ass to build correctly. I wouldn't attempt any additional work on those hurricane bolters unless you're a complete masochist.

That's a pretty worth while repaint.

New version is really sweet.

Also good luck if you end up trying to drill 12 metal bolters!

Damn fine work. I really like the red and white aquila on the front. That looks really good.

Great looking repaint, though I do feel it is a bit flat. Even just applying one depth technique I feel would go for on a model this clean looking: a wash in the corners, highlights, mud, weathering, paint chips. Just something to break up the the grey.

Thanks for the comments guys, the_Armyman picked up on the LR is the old metal ones which I was going to drill till i found my drill bits have become horrible blunted and doing 12 barrels with a blunt drill bit was just the icing on the insanity cake on repainting this model.

The assault cannon which is on a gangster lean is like that because the lug at the back wouldn't fit into the hole so had to be trimmed, on top of that when I glued the thing together the barrel was bent which threw the whole thing off, I've tried to bend it back and started to crack the bottom part of the plastic so for now its going to stay as it is.

Thanks for the prodding on the lettering on the front, I've fixed that now

@Riplikash - The model has washes in all the recesses and has edge highlighting on all raised edges. Weathering this tank now would have it not fit in with my current force so I won't be weathering it.

Superb job man. Those old metal LRC's can be a chore to work with, but you made that thing look cleeaaannn. Keeping old model relevant. I'm down with that.

THE FUN HAS BEEN DOUBLED!!!
