Here he is. After several months of on/off painting, I've finally finished my Deff Dread.

With my painting I like to try out a new technique for each big model I do, so for this I tried out some more advanced weathering techniques. There's some larger projectile damage that was drilled out and sculpted with green stuff. I also used weathering powders mixed with flow improver for the rust around the bolts. Most of the scratch battle damage was done with a sponge though I did use some brush flicks too. Base was created from a mix of sand and flock, then base coated and drybrushed up.

Anyhow, hope you guys like it. Any questions, comments, I'll be pleased to answer.

awesome paintjob for an awesome model. my only complaint is with the picture itself. the lighting is too yellow, you should try a different bulb.

Too long :p. It's been an on/off thing for about 4 months now. I'd guess... 30 hours at least. Maybe more. I'm a slow painter

It looks really great. I'd say well worth the effort and the wait. Takes me ages to finish stuff too. The chipped and weathered white is spot on.

Brilliant stuff.

Only criticism, the blood looks a bit flat. I would stipple the odd bit of brown in there.

Thanks guys.

Got any recommendations zilegil? I based the blood with dark flesh, but you're saying stipple it on after I've done the other colours?

Only very lightly in odd spots. It just breaks it up a bit and makes it slightly gory. Though dark flesh might be a bit dark, maybe a bit too noticeable.
