Battlecult launches!
Today is an exciting day for the
UK tournament scene as Battlecult opens its doors. Based in Bristol, we are committed to establishing ourselves as the best tournament organisation in the country. With our mix of high quality boards and terrain, top-class venue and dedicated team we believe our events will be among the highlights of the year for every gamer.
Who are you?
We are Simon Edwards and Liam Royle. Both of us have several years experience on the
UK tournament scene and past experience at running events and we intend to take this experience and use it to build the kind of events that players deserve, ranging all the way from no-holds-barred, razor-sharp tournament play to fluffier campaign weekends and weird and wonderful formats. No see-through terrain or mystifying results here, just good clean competition and the very best of everything both on and off the board!
Where are you?
Initially all our events will be run in the Bristol area at the Holiday Inn in the city centre, conveniently located for Bristol Temple Meads train station, Bristol coach station and the M32 (M4/M5). With discounted accommodation, parking and food & drink available on our air-conditioned site we offer an all-in-one package for players to experience the fun of a gaming event without the hassle.
What systems do you cover?
As it stands we have plans to run events for
40k, Fantasy, Warmachine/Hordes, Malifaux, Infinity, Blood Bowl and Flames of War. Several other systems are on the drawing board but you’ll find all of the above in our opening salvo of events.
What are we running?
We’re starting as we mean to go on by launching with the first heat of our flagship
40k event, the Rampage
GT – a true Grand Tournament made of up 3 heats throughout the year with a final event in October 2012. Taking place on the 28th/29th of January 2012, Rampage Heat 1 offers players the chance to truly compete with the best of the best.
Alongside Rampage, we offer all of the following in just the first three months of 2012:
- Lightning Strike (
WHFB)
- Warbands (
40k teams)
- Blood & Steel (
WM/H)
- Battle Cup (Blood Bowl)
- Winter War (
FoW)
- Crusade (
40k)
A full calendar of our events for 2012 will be available shortly – with a diverse selection from all systems and styles we believe that we can offer something for everyone!
If any of the above sounds like something you’d be interested in then keep your eyes peeled for more news in the coming weeks.
What else do you do?
Along with providing a top-flight tournament experience we offer a full range of web content including interviews, army features focused on some of the truly inspirational work done by painters & modellers, a gallery of all our terrain and a huge range of other media which will appear over the coming months. You can see links to all the latest article content to the right of this post – check early and often!
