Hi guys!

I was looking around the forum to see if someone asked this before but havent found anything. I would like to know if its possible to mount a nob bikers unit in a battlewagon, I read the rulebook and says that bike units follow all the same rules exactly as infantry besides the stated in their description. In the vehicle section says that only infantry units can be on transports but if bikes follow all the rules of infantry then... what do you think?

I don't know for a fact, but I'd bet there's something in the biker rules that prevents transports.

Nobz on bikes are not infantry. They just follow most of the rules for infantry. As such they cannot ride in transports.

Greebo had spent an irritating two minutes in that box. Technically, a cat locked in a box may be alive or it may be dead. You never know until you look. In fact, the mere act of opening the box will determine the state of the cat, although in this case there were three determinate states the cat could be in: these being Alive, Dead, and Bloody Furious.

Rules wise, they cannot be embarked in a vehicle because they are not infantry. Modeling wise, they could be mounted on for some extra dakka! Think 'nob bike sponsons'.

Which now that I think about it, would look really cool...

Well, that pretty much solves the issue. Sad thing thoug.. ti doesnt really say anything in the bike rules to prevent it and the only marked prohibition goes for jump infantry... anyway, it was a nice dream

Thanks a lot guys!

It says it in th rules for Transport vehicles, where only infantry are given permission to embark. Bike /= Infantry, so it isnt permitted to board.

Orkboy have a look at the transport rules on page 66 of the BRB, The rule section you are looking for is under the heading "Transport Capacity", and is the third paragraph.

See how it says "Only infantry models"?

Yeah I see that, all I'm saying is that it also says that bike units follow all the normal rules for infantry and even make completely clear that jump infantry cannot ride on vehicles... so why clarify one and let the rest in the air? so it's kind of confusing...

And besides it would be soooooooooooo cool to disembark noob bikers from a battlewagon!!!

As to why it specifically specifies JI, is because they are Jump Infantry, and did not want people saying "Oh they're Infantry so they can be in transports". Bikes are not Infantry.

Yeah, and MCs, Beasts & Cavalry, Artillery, and jump infantry all follow the same rules as regular infantry on various subjects; but none of those are Infantry.

The rule says only infantry; and as Happyjew wrote, they specifically call out Jump infantry to further clarify that they(Jump infantry) are still not infantry even though they have "Infantry" in their unit type(not an unreasonable call-out).

Bikes also never state that they follow all the rules for infantry; the only thing that does say that is the "Different uni types" boxout on the Jump infantry page(which also makes if abundantly clear that the unit types are all not infantry, following their own rules excepting in places where their is no specific rule wherein you follow the basic rules for infantry).

Transports have a specific instance for all the non-infantry unit types: they cannot embark because they are not unit type: infantry.

That said certain specific transport vehicles in certain codices specifically allow for non-infantry units to embark onto them(Necron Night Scythes, or GK/BA Storm Ravens for example); these are exceptions, not the rule.

This is my Rulebook. There are many Like it, but this one is mine. Without me, my rulebook is useless. Without my rulebook, I am useless.
