Hormagaunts in the front screening the army. Trygon hopefully comes up behind them, may keep a unit of terms in reserve to come up the hole the Trygon came up from may hold the Genestealers in a reserve to come up through the hole, first list making an army for my son.

Thus, After having thus successively taken each member of the community in its powerful grasp and fashioned him at will, the supreme power then extends its arm over the whole community. It covers the surface of society with a network of small complicated rules, minute and uniform, through which the most original minds and the most energetic characters cannot penetrate, to rise above the crowd. The will of man is not shattered, but softened, bent, and guided; men are seldom forced by it to act, but they are constantly restrained from acting. Such a power does not destroy, but it prevents existence; it does not tyrannize, but it compresses, enervates, extinguishes, and stupefies a people, till each nation is reduced to nothing better than a flock of timid and industrious animals, of which the government is the shepherd

May I ask why your taking prime if your not running warriors? Those points can be better used on 2 hive guard or biovore.

Tyranids 3000 points
Dark Angels 500 points

Sorrry, that list needs quite a bity of work ...

Tyrant without wings should have a tyrant guard, especially at 2k.
Prime - loadout will depend on where he is attached. Regen is good here for 10 points.
Elites - yikes! You need at least 2 HG in each brood. Having that little AV is going to kill you every time.
Termagants - drop the toxin sacs, they get that from the tervigon.
Hormogaunts - with AG and TS are heading towards stealer costs. I'd rather take more stealers, or at least drop AG - they have I5 already and with TS then auto wound on 4+ anyway so the extra S is not that much help TBH.
That single trygon has a massive bullseye on his chest. At 2k run them in pairs or not all. Best with AG - prime upgrade is situational.

Don't rely on anything coming out the trygon hole! If the trygon comes in last, how's that going to work?! If you want to stick more than 2 units in reserve then hive commander on the tyrant becomes a worthwhile investment.

Whenever possible, Do not bring Genestealers onto the feild from the Trygon hole. If they do, they cannot assualt, they all clumped up and have no shooting attack to fire during thier turn of uselessness. Trygon holes are for other Trygon, Raveners or anytihng else you can reserve that can shoot with decently enough.

by default Genes can outflank, if there's anything within a minimum of13" and a max of 18" of a table side, you can charge it (depending on run rolls)

Also in a list with only 2 TMC starting on the table, your Tyrant needs protection. I would cut the Prime since he doesnt fit in anywhere, use the points to buy a Tyrant guard and bolster your Genes.

Also cut the toxin sacs on the Dev gaunts, they are there to shoot, not fight, beside if they are holding an area with the Tervigon, they can use its toxins sacs.. Then take that 30 points, cut one gaunt from each squad and use the 50 pts to buy a 4th Hive guard, and run them in pairs.

Also i Agree with the above, AG are a waste on hormagaunts, theyre alrerady I5 and they dont have grenades, so thier initiative is often wasted, with Toxins on they'll reliably wound anything anyways. Put the AG points into more horms

For 240 pts you can afford 6 more Toxin hormagaunts if you take AG off. Here's the mathhammer on 24 AG/toxin
horms vs 30 Toxin horms attackign MEQ, IGEQ, and T5 or greater models with 4+ chance to hit wounding.

Gaunts go first in all these scenarios

24 gaunts AD/Toxin vs MEQ = 72 attacks with 42 hits after re-rolling 1s = 31.5 wounds after re-rolls

24 gaunts AD/Toxin vs IGEQ = 72 attacks with 42 hits after re-rolling 1s = 31.5 wounds after rerolls

24 gaunts AD/Toxin vs T5 or greater models = 72 attacks with 42 hits after re-rolling 1s = 21 wounds

30 Toxin gaunts vs MEQ = 90 attacks with 52.5 hits after re-rolling 1s = 26.25 wounds

30 Toxin gaunts vs IGEQ = 90 attacks with 52.5 hits after re-rolling 1s = 39 wounds after rerolls

30 Toxin gaunts vs T5 or greater models = 72 attacks with 52.5 hits after re-rolling 1s = 26.25 wounds

AD/toxin gaunts are slightly superior vs MEQ's but are beaten out by toxin only gaunts vs everything else with a Toughness value.

And with 30 models instead of 24, the unit will be more durable, individuals are more expendable andthey'll provide a bigger cover screen/tarpit.
