So, when you are reading a thread, and there's a post by a user you have added to your Ignore list, there's a little line telling you that there's a post by an ignored user. I think that the way this works is great.

However, when in a main forum listing, threads started by users on your Ignore list appear just the same as those started by everyone else. Is there a way to hide them (either shrink down similar to the in-thread hidden posts, or else remove them from your forum display entirely)?

Probably work

I've kind of wanted this too at times, but on the other hand, just because a thread gets generated by someone you'd prefer to pretend doesn't exist doesn't mean people whom you do care about won't add meaningful value that you would want to read.

Automatically Appended Next Post:
Maybe if there was "ignore user" as currently exists, and then some kind of "filter user from existence" option. The filter option could additionally not just hide the person, but completely remove their posts.

Of course, that might be a little solipsistic of me.

If I put someone on the ignore list, I expect Legoburner to go to their homes and permanently disconnect their internet.

In the meantime, I'll settle for just blocking their posts from my view.

The effort involved in coding such a feature is less than the effort involved by all ignorers just not clicking on the link. Loading the ignore data into the forum view pages would be a heavy hit on available memory due to caching requirements, or a very heavy hit on database load without caching. As such it is just not worth it.

Fair enough; that's understandable. Thanks for the reply, I thought I'd ask on the chance such a feature was built-in to the board software.

EDIT: Typo.
