Hi, Dakka. Now, I was upstairs in my room, painting some of my Death Guard. My mom comes in, to feed my snake, Titus. After putting the worm in, he gobbles it up. He then starts knocking his nose against the glass cage, and staring at her angrily. He then opens his mouth to my mom, which I thought was a sort of off thing. Does anyone here know what is happening?

After we fed him a giant worm three days in a row? He is not that big either, and normally not that hungry.

You could try it and see if it resolves itself, it's one possible thing considering that he only did it after he was just fed.

Hmm. What an odd question. I haven't the slightest idea.
Awesome name for a snake. Maybe he's just cranky. Does he look like he's in pain?

I guess I could, although he doesn't just do it after he is fed. Last week he nearly bit my brother's friend. Doesn't look in pain.

A green tree vine snake. I was only allowed to get him because my mom hates mice-eating snakes.

Maybe he's reverting to basic snake behavior.... Let him run around somewhere. Like the bathroom with all the doors closed. I'm thinking he just needs some air

Yes, I guess I could. I do take him out often, plan to do it today. Although, last time I let him on the floor (in my room), he got stuck in my dresser. Took us half an hour to get him out. I sometimes call him Houdini.

Infiltrating Hawwa'
Through the looking glass

I've had a ball python for a couple years, so I know a little bit about dealing with scaly homies.
1. Snakes shed all the time, it's because they're growing.
2. Snaked don't need to be let out to frolic around. Provided their cage is large enough for them they're quite content to climb sticks, sleep, and eat.
3. If he's bumping his nose at the glass, chances are it's some sort of aggression issue that comes from feeding him in the same enclosure he lives in. Look for the tension. If you see him tensed up, then it's a biting stance. I've never seen a snake just tap things with it's face, that could be a medical problem. They strike, and they bump, but they don't tap.
4. If he wants to keep eating, let him. If you put a worm in the cage and it's still there when you leave it over night, then take it out and leave him be. I fed my snake once every 2 weeks and he was quite fine with that.

Oh, forgot to say, when snakes shed, they sort of go blind and will defensively bite anything that comes near them. If they're handled all the time you may avoid a nip, but when you see their eyes getting cloudy you generally just want to leave em alone with a nice dark place to curl up in.
I'm still curious about these taps...
Does he have stuff to climb on?
Does he have a rock or upside down bowl to hide in?
Both are pretty important, depending on the breed though the hideaway is generally the most important thing to have in a cage.

I was rolling around in my chair laughing. You sound like a hilarious guy
Good luck! I'm hoping he was just cranky and that nothing was really really wrong with him

I decided too look up a Green Vine Snake, and I must say they sure are pretty. However, I also stumbled upon this.
"Vine snakes must be kept in large terrariums with a height of at least 2 meters and a surface of 6-16 square meters. The behavior towards humans is neutral and the snake usually goes to the other end of the terrarium. Some adapt very well and even come nearer. These are almost entirely lizard eaters. It is possible to train them to eat mice but difficult."
I hope you have a large enclosure. Otherwise the tapping could very well be stress related.

@Necroshea: He has both things, with many tree branches that he likes to hang around. I also have a live plant in there, with a pot containing dirt. He likes sleeping there, and normally drags his meal there, so he can have a good night's snack. Yes, the cage is pretty large, actually thinking about getting him a bigger one. Oh, where did you find this info?

Also might want to make sure your mom didn't handle another pet before getting the worm. The other animal scent probaly kicked a deep mental urge

Actually, yes. He does sometimes give the angry glance, but has been getting a little better. Maybe he just needed to be taken out. I will however, be monitoring his behavior for a while, but for now, have my fingers crossed.

If your snake was shedding and her eyes were glazed over that could be it, often times pet snakes get very defensive in this situation as they cannot see.
