I am starting a Blood Angels army (I enjoy their assault squads), I have a single scout bike which, from what I read on the forums here, is something that I could really do without. Now I know itd be kinda pointless to have just one scout bike, but I was wondering is it possible to have one scout bike by itself? This sounds like a dumb question to me, I know the codex says "1 sergeant, 2 scout bikes" and maybe im too tired to comprehend but does that mean I can have one sergeant by himself or I need at least a sergeant and 2 scout bikes? My tactic I was thinking was to get the first move using the scout bikes, then their locator beacon so that my assault squads didnt have to roll scatter dice and could move more effectively and precisely to get into combat. I guess my second question would be is this a tactic that would be worth going for?

Without having the Codex on me, I assume the one sergeant and 2 scout bikers are the minimum buyout for the squad. You cannot have less than that, I believe.

EDIT: Even as a tactic, anything wearing a jetpack in a BA codex is already accurate enough on the jump due to DoA rule.

yes, you have to have one Sgt and 2 scout bikes minimum in the squad.

the only real thing they are useful for is a turn one meltabomb assault on your opponents biggest vehicle and hope you destroy it, then they die.

With that said they are really not worth it for kamakazie tactics.

I totally overlooked and forgot all about that, so its really a ppointless tactic for BA and their one less D6 scatter role. It sounded like an interesting tactic, maybe for another space marine army.

Thank you for answering my question
