This is a work in progress. Experimenting with different colors from the Vallejo Air line of paints. The main color is "bright brass" with hints of "gunmetal metal". The thunder hammer is not done yet, I'm torn between using my airbrush to do the typical "buypainted" or "awesomepaintjob" technique or to just simply blend it with a brush. All paints were thinned using a water/windex solution. The base was created using the Warhammer 40,000 basing kit. Also I will be using the Iron Snakes decals rather than green stuffing the snake or painting them on.
I will keep this updated as I get close to completion of the entire squad. Please forgive the shoddy quality of the pictures, I used my cell phone.
Update 11-23-11: Don't mind certain areas (the skull on his back, thunder hammer shaft, power cord etc. are not done)
I just wanted to show off the bases and the blending on the hammer. I think it turned out okay but could use some more intermediate steps.

Thank you, chaplain. I'll have better pictures using my canon camera + figure booth soon. Also going to clean up some of the messy areas (didi's magic ink is great, but can leave a heavy mess in recessed areas if not careful).
Also my gold details (like the helmet - thanks for the compliment) are a 75/25 mix of "polished gold" and "silver" from the Vallejo line in case anyone was wondering. I find that straight up gold is too strong and blingy.
Automatically Appended Next Post: I should also mention that the torso, arms, and head are all magnetized thanks to the great product from K&J Magnetics. I plan on selling this squad once completed and so I will be supplying additional arms to switch all 5 termies to lightning claws/thunder hammers/regular terminators (powerfists / storm bolters). The reason for magnetizing the head was so that someone can pop the helmet-less head in should they want.

Thank you all for the kind words. I'll have an update soon.

A water/windex solution for watering down my paints works well for me. Something about the windex holds the paint well and seems to make it dry faster and make the paint 'lay down'. Give it a try sometime. I use a 75/25 mix. More water than windex. I place the mix in an empty dropper bottle in order to control the flow. Just a small drop per every 2 or 3 vallejo drops works well.
For the vallejo air paint I don't need to water them down. The picture doesn't do it justice. I will post an update soon.
Thanks. I will not be adding any weathering to the shins. I belive in space marines being clean since their MO is "strike hard strike fast, get out".
But if I were theming them for a large scale war I would consider weathering them down a lot. I think he's a little too weathered as it is. Not as clean as I had originally envisioned. This might sound crazy but I'm contemplating stripping him down with simple green and starting over.
Thanks for the words of encouragement guys, I appreciate that. I made small progress over the 4 day weekend, not as much as I would have liked. Will post an update soon.
Thank you. I spent an insanely long time on the bases. lol I used the warhammer 40,000 basing kit in conjunction with GW sand/gravel. I used a combination of the large "bases" and slate. I cut them up appropriately so that they would fit with minimal over-hang.
Primed them black and then dry-brushed with vellejo grey/black mix moving down to dry-brushing with straight grey- grey/white- and then finally white. Added didi's magic ink. Let dry. Then added brown ink. Finally dry-brushed with catachan green (one of the few GW colors I still have).
