Cool list, but the biggest problem with it in my opinion is not enough Lootas in that unit. To get the best use out of them I usually try to take 12 or more. You may even consider scrapping the Burnas in the Trukk and getting another Loota squad. I say this because since you are doing a Kanwall the Trukk isn't going to get into battle right away and if it does it is still basically a suicide unit. Burnas aren't that great in assault anymore and they are limited to an anti-infantry role only.

If you scrap the Burnas and the Trukk you free up 190 points. I would try to get two units of at least 12 Lootas, as they can destroy not only infantry from afar, but also light tanks, skimmers, and MCs. Then your procedure is the Big mek w/ SAG and the 2 Loota units provide dakka for the advancing Kanwall. Another reason I like having two Loota units is that if you face any deepstriking or outflanking units trying to get at your SAG Big Mek, you can toast them in the crossfire.

I also think you could free up some more points by ditching either the 'Eavy armor or the Cybork bodies on the Big Meks. This is because you are probably going to have atleast a 4+ cover save on both those units most of the time.

Some bosspoles on your footslogging mobs can always be a benefit but not a necessity in this case.

If you want to pursue some different options like more Lootas or the bosspoles, you can always drop one Deffkopta and deploy 1-2 as individual Fast Attack units.

Oh, Nix the truks. Add boyz. Mechanizing boyz defeats the purpose of the KW. I've had real good luck with DKs.

My issue is mixed weapons in each Mob/Unit. Make them all pure for special weapons.

Your one unit of Kans
Grotzooka - short range anti-infantry
RL - Medium range anti vehicle
KMB - Medium range ususally used to take a wound from MCs/termies/DKs/ ect...
Mixed you will do each mission mediocre. Pure you do one thing really well.

Who did you buy the Trukk for to give to the Burna mob. The DEX states a Mob of boyz has to be less than 12 to get one and a trukk isn't an option for burna mobs?

SAG MEK is probably going to die early with nothing to hide him in. If you put him in with the Lootas they have to target the same unit. Again like mixing weapons in Mobs you are wasting someone's shooting.

I would tend to agree with nixing the SAG. It's average Strength roll is going to be a 7. Base cost is 95 points. Although you do get a large blast template which is good anti-infantry, I always risk the Str roll and target the biggest baddest vehicle on the map. Then I roll a 4 or some nonsense. 95 points on lootas though... That's 6 lootas (guaranteed strength 7).

I like using my SAG MEK but not with a unit of Lootas. AP 2 means those Deepstriking Terminators are going to be in for a world of hurt with even the average roll. I'd find to the points to give him a grot meatshield if I left him in this list.

I would never put the SAG Big Mek in with Lootas either. A grot mob is definitely a good cover for him and they are cheap.

Also GreenNutz, why'd you pick Tankbustas over more Lootas? Just curious.

I understood that the procedure was to roll for strength before placing the template?

I'm in the process of building 3 more Kans. The TBs are a placeholder and will be the billpayer to free up points. I am considering dropping the Kommandos though. I have had pretty good success with my TBs. They are the second unit I add to my RTT lists.

For the SAG you pick the target then roll for STR. Keeps you honest so you don't target a TAC squad if you roll a 3 or go after a LR if you roll a high STR.

Ok so I've made a few changes, I've changed the Kans weapon mix now so they're the same other than the grotzooka squad I placed one mega-blasta in there (I already have a squad built and they don't have a grotzooka in it already and Im not prepared to buy another box) I've also swapped the burnas for more Lootas and dropped the 'eavy armour on the BMs. I've also dropped the trukk. Although I have 50 points to spare, not realy sure what to spend them on, any ideas?

My only problem now is that I have no transport for the mek with the KFF, but I guess I could just hide him in the kan wall.

I'd do the same thing for the weapons in your Boyz Mobs. Make them all the same. For the leftover points if you have the models add Gretchin to give your SAG MEK albative wounds and keep him separate from the Lootas for firing purposes. I'd have kept the Eavy armor on the KFF BM as you will more than likely be moving him forward with a Mob. You never know when he will need to make a save. For the SAG MEK just keep him in cover. I wouldn't bother giving him any armor. He should not be making any saves and if it comes down to wound allocation that he has to, chances are the Mob he is with will have all ready broken and taken him with them.

You could put a Buzzsaw on a DeffCopta. Nothing like a STR 6 (7 on the charge) PW chewing up the rear armor of a pie plate dropper in your opponents backfield when they outflank.

I highly doubt your KFF BM should have been in the Trukk with the burnas anyway. That has a big shoot me target on it and if a shot gets through you would have risked him getting pinned, stalling your advance, or worse if the burnas take casualties and run.
