I've now dropped down to fourth place thanks to the ass whooping from Imperial Guard and now on table 3. I am again Mike who is also another Imperial Guard player. To spice it up a bit he is air cav with Leman Russ and Chimera support.

Deployment
Mike won the roll off and decided to go first. I'm not keen on Guard going first, but compared to a normal mech list Mike's fire power isn't as much. I can hopefully out deploy him. Mike deploys putting two Vendettas on the left flank along with a Chimera and also the Leman Russ. Centre was Strakken and the other Vendetta while on the right flank was the Demolisher and other Chimera.
I deployed my entire force on the left flank as I can avoid the Demolisher for a limited period.
Objectives had been placed lower right flank, centre by Mike's board edge and top left near Mike's board edge.
Turn 1
Mike does a scout with the Vendetta in the centre coming down towards the bottom right objective.
Mike's first turn, Vendetta which did the scout move goes towards the bottom right objective and the Veterans bail out to claim it. Primaris Psyker appears out the Vendetta top left corner and moves into terrain and contests the objective their. I think that's about all the movement.
Shooting, lascannons rain out along with a shot from the Leman Russ. After the dust has settled I've lost a few beasts but more importantly Baron is dead. Two Ravagers are also down and a Venom explodes, three Warriors remain, they pass morale but fail pinning.
I move my Beastmasters through cover but they get crap rolls and still end up been in cover. My Venoms flank around the ruin I deployed behind mainly due to room and also I can focus on more targets, Trueborn bail out of their Venom on the right side of the ruin while Trueborn bail out of their Venom on the left side of the board.
Shooting I torrent the Psyker to death with splinter cannons. I blast a Vendetta on the left flank and it's wrecked, squad then gets torrented with splinter cannons, unit remains. Trueborn blast the other Vendetta and it is shaken.
* Tactical Notes
I've taken some losses the first turn in the form of two Ravagers and Baron, add in the Venom too, but I am not fussed about that. This has dropped the survivibility of the Beastmasters and also my long range fire power, so some nice target priority by Mike. Though I think I have got as much as I have given as a Vendetta is gone, Psyker is dead, unit of Guardsmen taken some some damage and a Vendetta cannot shoot, so Mike's fire power is dropping.
Next turn I will keep pressure on the left flank and blast the Vendetta and Chimera by the objective to pieces along with the Veterans on foot. Any tanks will be dealt with by blasters. Hopefully I can get the Beastmasters into assault as well.
Turn 2
Vendetta on the right flank moves around to blast the rear of my Venoms while the Demolisher draws
LOS through the gaps in the fortress (it wasn't put together right). Chimeras roll up to cover the centre objective. The Vendetta which cannot shoot flies up and lands by my Venoms on the left flank and the Veterans bail out.
Shooting the three Venoms on the right side of the ruin where I deployed are all exploded, Trueborn which bailed out from them are dead but luckily the two Warrior units live on. On the left the Trueborn on foot get blasted by a flamer which was intending to hit their Venom, two die while their Venom takes damage from the other guns of that Veteran unit and is immobilised, the Trueborn fail morale and fall back.
My turn I regroup the Trueborn and send them back into the fight. Last Ravager moves up on the left flank along with supporting Venoms. Troops on foot move up while Beastmasters move forward.
Shooting I blast the Vendetta and it is immobilised and shaken. Splinter cannons gun down the exposed Veterans which blasted my Trueborn and their Venom. Blasters fire at the Chimera near the left side objective and break off the multi laser. Ravager fires at the Leman Russ but does nothing, Warriors blast the Veterans out the busted Vendetta from first turn and only one survives - luckily Strakken is still in range making them fearless. Warriors which were pinned first turn blast the Vendetta flanking the rear and it explodes.
In assault Beastmasters charge and wreck the Chimera close by, Veterans spill out.
* Tactical Notes
Ok a good turn for me. I've taken out Mike's fast moving units which can threaten objectives and also a big bulk of his fire power. All I really have to deal with on the left flank is the Leman Russ, Strakken a single melta Vet and a squad of Veterans inside the Chimera.
My plan next turn is to perhaps ignore the immobilised Vendetta and move past it so it cannot see any of my Dark Eldar. I will blast the Chimera by the objective and finish off the single melta Vet and the exposed unit out of the wrecked Chimera.
Turn 3
Mike moves his Veterans to hold the centre objective whle Strakken bails out his tank to deal with the Beastmasters. The Demolisher heads over to support the bulk of armour.
Shooting not sure what goes on, but I don't think I take much damage except for a few beast taking some flamer wounds from Strakken's unit.
In assault Strakken charges the Beastmasters, Strakken loses combat and takes more wounds thanks to fearless, he has a single wound left.
My turn I get the two Trueborn back in their Venom while remaining Venoms move up and Warriors head towards the left objective.
Shooting, the Trueborn inside the Venom explode the immobilised Venom. Chimera by the objective takes minor damage, cannot shoot and no weapons. Single Veteran is killed by a Warrior unit while the other Warrior unit runs and claims the left objective. Splinter cannons open fire and blast the Veterans, one left, whle the Ravager wrecks the Leman Russ.
In assault Strakken dies and Beastmasters consolidate.
* Tactical Notes
Things are going well for me now. I just need to make sure I hang onto the left objective and then secure the centre and I've got this game in the bag. All that is left on the left flank is a empty Chimera, Leman Russ Demolisher and the useless Chimera with troops inside.
Next turn I will finish off the Veterans on foot while I blast the Chimera to pieces and the troops inside. I will move the last Ravager flat out towards the right flank objective as the unit of Warriors which were pinned first turn are on their way, but it's a long way for them to go.
Turn 4
The useless Chimera rams my Venom, I fail dodge but it does no damage anyway. Demolisher blasts the Beastmasters and gibs them, they fail morale and fall back and cannot regroup as under half strength. Veterans had previously bailed out the Chimera which did the ram fire at a Venom and take it out, though ignored the Trueborn right in front of them.
My turn I blast the empty Chimera but still cannot finish it off. I torrent both Veteran units on foot and wipe out the one by the left objective and leave a single Veteran left by the centre objective. I did also move the last Ravager flat out towards the right objective.
* Tactical Notes
Ok so I didn't kill everything I wanted, but the single Veteran on foot isn't going to last long and the useless Chimera cannot asborb much more fire power. Just the Leman Russ to deal with.
I will move the Ravager towards the bottom right objective and contest it. Hopefully I can knock out the Chimera by the top left objective and the empty one on the centre objective. I am not sure about the Leman Russ.
Turn 5
Not a lot of movement from Mike. Only shooting he does is melta a empty Venom while the Demolisher is out of range to fire anything, though it did move back towards the right objective.
My turn I move the Ravager 12" and contest the right objective while Warriors move and run to contest the centre objective. Shooting I take out the Chimera near the left objective and kill the single Veteran. The Leman Russ Demolisher is immobilised and shaken from the Ravager.
We roll for next turn and the game ends. Dark Eldar win claiming a single objective and contesting two others. Victory points wise there is only a single melta Veteran unit left and a immmobilised Demolisher.

Summary
A good game with Mike and a refreshing Guard list for a change. I thought things were going to go sour turn 2 when my Venoms started dropping like flies, but I kept on plan and tackled everything on the left flank (like I did with Phil) leaving his army crippled in time, removing his mobility and him having only a small portion of his army to face almost the whole of mine.
