For those of you aware of the DoW fluff, the story of Chaos Rising and Retribution, the Blood Ravens have a huge amount of Marines fall to Chaos, notably Chapter Master Kyras. In both games, a lot of the Marines have barely (if at all) changed their armor with Chaos Icons and the like, which lessens the amount of converting I need to do, and since I love the concept of Chaos, this is a huge enticing factor for me.

My idea is to be able to use my current C:SM army painted Blood Ravens and be able to use them for CSM and C:SM; the justification of using the CSM book being the very storyline reason I mentioned above. Yes yes, I know I'd need to have the specific CSM models and be WYSIWYG, but I don't care since I love those models anyway.

If you were my opponent, what would you think of my reasoning of being able to use the CSM book? Would you let it fly?

So long as the wargear matches what the models are carrying, how you decide to paint them really doesn't matter.

I guess it'd be okay; I'm just curious what your personal justification is for using the Chaos codex though. It's more than a little bit limited.

I think his intention is for whenever Chaos Renegades is released or whenever the new Chaos codex is released.
