Okay, so the local shop is having a 1000 pt tournament, using the force organization restrictions that are used for the Adepticon team tournament.
Except you have no teammates. Its just straight up, down and dirty 1v1 games, and each round is a different mission.
So here's my list idea:

Not keen on the SWSs using the Chimeras, as they have to start outside of the Chimeras First turn.

Drop the Lascannons on the LRBTS, as BS 3 and forcing you to shoot your battle cannon at vehicles is less than ideal.

Use those 40pts to drop the Primaris for a CCS. Then give them a Lascannon and 2 special weapons (whatever you want to spend (a LC CCS is 70pts already, so you still have 40pts to play with). You can spend 20pts to give your PCS 4 Melta guns if desired.

Another option would be to get a Lord Commissar instead and blob the PIS, putting him in it. Give him a Camo Cloak for 10pts and you give the whole 20 man unit a +3 Cover save if +50% are in cover. Those 40pts from the LCs from the LRBT should be 3 Power weapons and 2 Melta bombs for the Lord and the Sergeants to make it a proper blob to camp your home objective. Change the PCS to Melta guns to give you 3 Melta gun groups heading out with the LRBTs.... even 2 melta guns will be better than 4 flamers in this situation.

I would also seriously look at replacing the banewolf for a Vendetta to give you more long range AT (to go with your CCS). Heavy hull flamers on the Chimeras should be doing the same job (more or less).

If you do the Lord Commissar option, you /really/ need the Vendetta IMO.

Its 1 HQ, 1-3 troops, and then 1 of everything else except you can pick 2 of one catagory.
Definatly dropping the lascannons and psyker. I think I like the idea of the ccs w/ lascannon.
I'd prefer not to run blob footguard because thats what I normally do and I kind of want to catch people off guard. Everyone's used to me running 30 man blobs across the table at them lol
As for the sws using the chimeras, yes, they do have to start outside it but I can hide them and the chimera behind something for a turn.
I considered a vendetta also, but... that requires me to buy one lol. I'm not opposed to the idea though

Well, you do have 2 PISs in your base list. Why /not/ blob them in a defensive blob to hold a home objective if your going to keep them?

Besides, this means if your do the CCS, they can give the blob 'Bring it Down!' or 'FRF, SRF!' and give themself ('BiD! to TL the LC) every turn.

If you run blobs normally, then you know a Commissar, Melta bombs, PWs, and filled special weapons (I run Melta guns) are almost a must. But I can understand if you just do not have the points for it... you /should/ get a Commissar at least though (for Orders and Stubborn), since your PIS is turning into a AC platform.

also, whats your opinion on priests?

Priests are overpriced for what they do, they're not really worth it IMHO. I like the list, if you can, get some special weapons in the company command or maybe put it in a chimera? Then you have a nice bunker for them and (hopefully) cover if it gets taken down

As for blobs, I think I run them differently than most people. I don't really believe in the whole melta bomb thing, I prefer to just have dedicated tank killing units. But I guess I can try it for once, here's the blob idea I thought of:

Yeah, the thing that kills Priests is that they are ICs, so they stand out in CC and can be targeted. It is even hard to hide them in blobs as the rules state ICs move first and /have/ to try to get in CC if they have the movement for it. The 'Chainfist' is awesome, but it is on a guy with 1 wound and 3s in all of his stats, even with a 4+ Invuln save (better then his 5+ Flack armor).

You can make them work and not get them in combat, but it is really hard.

The melta bombs are really pure defensive weapons. Think of it, a Scout Sentinel attacks your blob. Yeah, it is taken out of the game, but so is your blob because it has nothing to defeat AV 10. Krak nades can be a option for some units, but not nearly as effective as Melta bombs. Sure, your Sarges need a 6 to hit and only have one attack (even if they normally have more), but those 6s are better then the nothing you would have otherwise. This does also give you the option to charge vehicles too, giving you a touch more flexibility (say you failed on the melta shots or something).

@1k points, i'd start with Straken! that's way too low of a pt level to be adding in pricey special characters, imho.

I'd forgo the Plasma pistol too. at low points, i drop all the frills, and go for filling out the platoons.
you can add other toys after that if you have the points left.

You need to decide on what kind of list you want to run. Hybred is very hard to pull off at low point levels due to the cost of the Chimeras. Put it like this, a Melta vet in chimera list at 1k points is about 5-6 Chimeras with no other bells or whistles (including a CCS). That list will have no long range AT for support, so you have a a good 2 rounds before your in range to melta something. That gives your opponent alot of chances to cripple your list before you even get in range, much less the problem of deciding on if your going to hold a Chimera back to hold an objective in objective games.

The CCS sits back with the HWSs on the home objective in cover. Remember the HWSs are scoring units since they are part of the platoons. I normally would take a Lord Commissar for the HWSs, but I am risking firepower over staying power. Keep the HWSs within 12" of the CCS and try to issue 'Bring it Down!' to them (or to the CCS itself) to pop any mech out there. Combined with the firepower of two Vendettas and you have 7 LCs on up to 3 different targets and 6 ACs on 2 targets. Both of your blobs can move up under a steady amount of covering fire to melta things and get in close combat with the enemy. The Vendettas are now scoring with the flamer PCSs in them and can zoom out to capture objectives cleared out by the blobs or to flame out weaker cover saved base troops (Rangers, Scouts, Gretchen, ect) to cap/contest objectives.

I actually like it lol, and usually I'm really stubborn when it comes to rewriting the entire list.
So, now I just need to get 2 vendettas before the 17th, I should have everything else.
Question though, the PCS cant shoot out of the vendetta right? They have to disembark?

They have to disembark. There are no portals to shoot out of for either the Vendetta or Valk. They do have the option for Grav Chut incertion, but read it carefully and use it cautiously, as scattering into anything costs you the entire unit.

Yeah, I remember that rule. Well thank you guys, I think I'm pretty sure about this list now. Time to write 1000 pts of necrons for one of the guys going with me.
