Would there still be action figures in the far, grimdark future? I would assume they'd space marines. I can picture it now!

"New, from JoyCo! The Ultramarine squad pack! With shooting bolters and action phrases!"

They would crackle out garbled battle cries, and shoot bits of plastic from a spring loaded gun. What joy would the Boys of the Imperium have! Until they're purged for having too much fun.

I feel like a moron for posting this.

Guardsmen, Fire!
...Feth yeah!

Don't see why there wouldn't be, but they'd all be painted with grimdark lead-based paint by child laborers in Space China.

I can't see there being marine figures...

The average citizen regards the space marines as gods. It would be like us having Jesus action figures.

Imperial Guard action figures, sure. They would probably only have cartoony and silly looking alien figures, to give citizens the impression that aliens were stupid and weak.

Still, plastic bits in spring loaded guns! Nothing more fun than that.

The difference is, in our society, people aren't regularly burned alive for heresy.

I love that there's a 'Deluxe' Jesus... as opposed to the other kind...

But yeah, I think it would be more likely for action figures to be of Guardsmen or PDF, rather than Marines. Marines are far more 'shadowy' in the background. To most Imperial citizens they're nealry a myth. Which would seem to imply that they're not regularly toted about in the mass media.

yea, Titanicus was a good book

edit - as an aside, any toymakers who wanna make wind up walking titans would make a killing now selling to 40k players

Everyone knows the planet is called Peaking. Didn't you pay attention in Space Geography?

anyways, In one of the Blood angels novels, There was a kid that had a box full of little Space marine Figures(based off of Arkio) carved out of wood IIRC. Rafen saw them, was not pleased and told the kid to only make these little figures of the Emperor.
