I put 3 brush-scoop of Ultramarine GW color onto the wet pallete. Then I put 1 drop of my diluted flow aid (10 water : 1 flow aid). The paint becomes really watery. It makes painting on surface very easy but painting on any ridges and the watery paint flow into the ridge, removing the details.

Am I doing something wrong? Should I put more paint?

Sounds too thin to me and youll have to be careful how much paint you have your brush loaded up with.

Theres no hard and fast rules tho, if it feels too thin, thin it less. Only you know whats right for you.

Every paint will need different amounts of thinning, some wont need any at all for certain jobs.

In this case, I guess adding less of the diluted flow aid would work but how can I add less than 1 drop?

I use a plastic syringe that has a very very fine tip to add water drops when thinning. The smaller the tip, the smaller the drop. Or you can use the same size drop of water but just use a bit more paint.
