So I have 4 marine models left to make into a devastator squad (the sergeant is already made). I have 4 bodies (head, body, legs), 3 ML, 2 HB, 1 MM, 1 LC, and 1 Plasma Cannon. Assuming no magnets, what would be the best general purpose loadout.

Notes that may prove valuable for determining this answer:
Blood Angels
Low on Mech
Heavy on Jump
the devastators will have access to a rhino or razorback(either TL/LC or TL/HB).

DC Metro

Trade someone a multimelta for a 4th missile launcher, and go with 4 missiles. That, or 3 missiles and a lascannon.

I like 3 ML, 1 LC.

With those options I would probably go for 3ML and 1LC. This will give you strong anti tank with anti infantry options with frag missiles. You can use the signum on the LC guy. ML are definitiely the best buy for BA devastators for their low cost and versatility. I'd recommend taking four, but you don't have four and hey, you don't want to be like EVERYONE else (I'm looking at you - all my BA opponents !)

The only other set up I would consider with your options is possibly swapping out the LC for a plasma cannon if you play against lots of marines who don't bring much AV13+

What is the general opinion of the plasma cannon? I generally like it in testing due to Template + AP2 + Str 7, that eats most infantry and lots of vehicles, but it is rather expensive and 1/6 shots blows up the operator.

over the few games that I played, I find the devastator for BA is very cool.

the importat bit is where to deploy, range and line of sight will very much determine how useful they are.

for Plasma Cannon they are pretty good, remember when roll a 1, it is a wound that can be saved by armour and feel no pain.

their 36'' is a bit limitting, but if you have a squad of 4 plasma cannon, it will be very effective against meq.

I clean out 7 pluage marines in a round of shooting before (4 plasma).
