Since asking the Question will the Imperium ever fall and getting several answers i would like to ask a related but different question. Will Man ever fall?
The Imperium is failing that much is obvoius but will man be totally extinguished from the galaxy? Some may ally with the Tau or Eldar or as other's will form smaller empires consisting of a couple of systems of which to rule over and have more force to defend instead of trying to defend the whole galaxy.

Imperial gaurd rules!

The answer is - we don't know.
Until GW move the timeline we aren't sure that Imperium will fall at all.

For Emperor and Imperium!!!!
None shall stand against the Crusade of the Righteous!!!

The Emperor doesn't have a GKs unshakable faith in the Emperor which is....basically himself?

The full circle was part of 3rd ed. The fall of Mankind like civilizations rise and fall. So yes, once it was a possibility.
Now we got the reduced "end times" theme, which contains a lot of "time" lacks an "end" and is generally seen as the Darkest hour.
After a 'darkest hour', there may be brighter ones...

But mankind can fall like every species. The Galaxy is filled with ruins of ancient lost civs.....
Is there a chance it happens?
Not really as the background is tied to the main actor of it, and thats humans, be they imperial or minions of the ruinous powers.

We were wrong. It's not the 40k End Times. It's the Trademarkening.

They're the same question. Without organisation "man" is little but a frightened, barely sentient primal animal.

Ever thought 40k would be a lot better with bears?
