Bush? No, Eldar Ranger

Hey, recently played my very first DnD game and it was jawsome.
Now, we used these old MageKnight models, but I'd like to make a proper model for my character and I'd like to use WH Fantasy bits. Thing is, I'm not that familiar with Fantasy. I've browsed the bits sites and found things, but I'm not sure what's compatible with what. So, I thought: why not ask Dakka for advice.
I play a human Barbarian. Our campaign is set in a Scandinavian-esque world (we're half gods). The model has to have a halberd and, preferably, a warhammer and a bunch of javelins somewhere on his person. Preferably a tall, muscular, bearded and longhaired guy ('cause, you know, Vikings). Eventually I'll also need a version that is mounted on a (war)horse (I saw the chaos marauder horse, which I liked).
Last (minor) thing: as cheap as possible (;

Think you've pretty much got it there, reading your description, I'd definitely opt for Marauders; To save money, see if there's a GW Bits store in your country (Recommend Bitsandkits if they post internationally)

I'm just here to look at pretty pictures, and be an ass.

Or just buy something from Reaper. They've probably got something a lot closer to your concept for a lot cheaper than GW.

This is probably true.
However, if you just really want a custom figure, Chaos marauders, Knights, maybe space wolf bits, all kinds of stuff. Skaven spears look good for a halberd.

Utilizing Careful Highlighting

For male barbarians, try looking for suitable pieces in Reaper or Dark Sword miniatures. You'll be surprised that most of the times, they'll have a model that really fits your character. They will also be cheaper than buying a whole GW kit to kitbash stuff.
If prepainted minis are your way to go 'cause you can't paint, try Dungeons and Dragons miniatures. 100% sure they have more than five Human barbarians, or at least something that would fit that desciption. They're not as detailed as Reaper or Darksword, but they do their job, they're much more lighter and you don't need to paint them. Problem is that you need to scourge eBay or something to look for the one you like, because they don't sell singles.
I have craptons of miniatures on all of the lines I mentioned (not including my 40k army), and I use them all for DnD, especially when I'm DMing which is 90% of the time.
