I play a Kan Wall regularly, it's fun but reliable and not very Orky in that way so I came up with this:

Big Mek -SAG 95
Big Mek -SAG 95
Lootasx15 225
Lootasx5 75
Lootasx5 75
Ork Boyzx30-Shootas -Nob -PK -BP -BSx3 235
Ork Boyzx30-Shootas -Nob -PK -BP -BSx3 235
Ork Boyzx30-Shootas -Nob -PK -BP -BSx3 235
Ork Boyzx30-Shootas -Nob -PK -BP -BSx3 235
Gretchinx10 –Runtherder 40
Deffkopta -TL Rokkit -Buzzsaw 70
Deffkopta -TL Rokkit -Buzzsaw 70
Looted Wagon -Boomgun 105
Looted Wagon -Boomgun 105
Looted Wagon -Boomgun 105
2000

I could drop a unit of boyz and the gretchin and come up with almost 45 lootas I may have to drop a few big shootas to get there. It would be more Dakka, but I like the extra boyz/PK as well.

As far as gun line I don't think it will do very well. Most of your shots are only 18 inches. Not a very good gun line. I also dont think those wagons will last to make a real impact. If you want to protect them then take one Mek and give him a KFF. what you do is sit behind the wagons with the gretchin and cover all of them. I would add more lootas. If nothing else you have alot of long range shots going at them. I alos like big guns with kannons. St 8 36 inch range guns are really nice. Just an idea there.

i've been considering how shooty orks can be and i find

5 lootas are cheap and effective and are never overkill
3x5 lootas gives great rhino blasting
while kannons are more versitile lobbas are more reliable(they scatter rather then miss) and farther range
9 lobbas is a good start for allot of distance carnage( great against long fangs HWT ect.)
Shoota mobs on foot are THE BEST UNIT PER POINT in my research HOWEVER THEY ARE THE MOST DEFENSIVE UNIT BY FAR
Shoota mobs are not an attack option they are a survival option
The best shooting orks offer is bikers

the problem becomes very simple you take shootas in order to make an acctual gun line but they dont do it very well
a kan wall is much more effective as it uses the shootas and meks for their balance of durability and power

Kan walls are the most defensive option the orks really have but they are not gunlines

otherwise you need to step into the offense oriented armies:
Biker Armies
Trukk Rushes
Battlewagon landings
Green tides

i cant yet tell you which one to take but those are your best options

You should go for the big guns if you want a gunline. Also a kff can be better than a SAG.

Thanks for the advice, I will look into the Big Guns. And yes I know KFF is more competitive. I just like the idea of dropping 2-5 pie plates on top of an incredible amount of Dakka, I think it would be very fun. I would also be open to buggies but I am not sure how best to outfit them.

I would do this:

2 Big Meks with KFF
15 Lootas
15 Lootas
5 Lootas
30 Shootas including Nob with PK and BP, 3 Rokkits
30 Shootas including Nob with PK and BP, 3 Rokkits
30 Shootas including Nob with PK and BP, 3 Rokkits
3 Rokkit Buggies
3 Rokkit Buggies
3 Rokkit Buggies
3 Big Gun Lobbas
3 Big Gun Lobbas
3 Big Gun Lobbas

Lootas take the high ground
Big guns take the reverse slope of hills or behind buildings
Big Meks provide cover and attach to Shoots Mobs
Buggies provide cover and move the heck out of the way or block as needed.

Desparately lacking in PK's but would be different.

I like this list but I do not like rokkits in shoota squads. Give htem bshootas and be able to shoot at least first turn with them.

I thought about that - if this was a typical Kan wall list Id agree. Big Guns swap for Kans and Buggies swap for single Rokkit Buzzsaw Koptas.

Taking out the rokkits further handicaps the list I posted - it has very few PK's - the extra rokkits will be needed. Or swap Lobbas for Kannons, but I think LOS will be an issue if Kannons are used.

Why do you think you need so many PK's. Orks are still orks in combat. I take a few PK's for tanks but honestly they never kill anything in CC. I just don't roll good enough for it.

If your lucky you might get one rokkit to hit. With the cover saves going on now you probably wont even kill the target. But if you have 3 bshootas and the shootas you get more potential wounds and in return more saves he has to make. Which means more models die. At least in my experience.

I just think you are over thinking this kinda list anyways. How its going to win, is just by mass fire power. Thats what I use for my plan with my kan wall. I don't even assault unless I am assaulted of course or I absolutely have to. But this is again all from my experience.

I agree, rokkits w shootas is a conflicting idea, the thing you want to aim your str 4 shooting at is not generally the same thing you want your str 8 shots at. drop the rokkits and just bring more lootas.

The council is unanimous drop the rokkits.
